We were on a girls trip a few weeks ago celebrating my milestone birthday. We stayed at Chapungu for four days, I didn't want to stay in a resort style, wanted something a little more rustic the tented camp sounded perfect. It was much more luxurious than expected, they provided complimentary sherry in your tent along with an outdoor Jacuzzi.... More

My husband and I were celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary and decided to go safari and stay and chapungu thonybush. We had a very warm welcome from the manager and staff. We were not sure what to expect of our accommodation as it was a tented accommodation. The room had all we need even a heated blanket. You wouldn't think... More

Wow, we just returned from a great trip at Chapungu! First of all, since we had a group of 8 of us, we opted to rent a van at Johannesburg airport and drive in. It was a great way to see the beautiful countryside of South Africa, but it was a very long drive. I'll summarize with saying that Chapungu... More

My wife and I stayed in Chapungu Luxury Tented Camp for two nights from June 29th – July 1st 2014. We choose this place because we prefer to stay in small tented camps and it could not have come better than it was. Starting with the warm welcome upon our arrival everything became unforgettable. The Camp, the landscape, the game... More

Had a perfect two nights at Chapungu last week to finish off our time in SA. This is my fourth time in SA and Chapungu was by far the best Safari experience i've had. Excellent service from the friendly team and great food. My partner has a dairy allergy and usually this causes all kinds of confusion - Chapungu catered... More

Our experience at Chapungu doesn't match up to the Thornybush reputation at all. While the camp is charming, comfortable and feels authentic, and the staff are all very friendly and personable, it needs much stronger management. The animals are all there - even cheetah and black rhino which were a highlight but the tracking and guiding 2nd rate. Some very... More

So sorry to hear that Karen 247 didn’t enjoy her stay at Chapungu Bush Camp. We have conducted a thorough investigation into the comments made and the Lodge Management couple, Nataly and Gerrard most surprised as they spoke to Karen 247 on a number of occasions during her stay and no comment was made about the food at all. Sipps,... More

What a true African experience! I don't even know where to start..... Upon arrival the Chapungu staff welcomed us as we drove into the lodge. The tents were neat and beautiful not to even talk about the outside bath. The food was cooked to perfection! The Chapungu staff spoiled us and made our stay extremely special! Gerhard and Sedrick went... More

We arrived at Chapungu pretty tried from our journey and were immediately made to feel welcome and at home. The "tents" are very substantial and it doesn't feel like you're in a tent when you're inside, although you do have the excitement of various bugs smashing into the side of the canvas through the night, which made us jump at... Highly recommend Chapungu game reserve. We had the most fantastic end to our honeymoon here. All the staff are just brilliant! Sips and Oscar on Safari, Christine and Kaitlin at reception and all the waiting staff and chefs, I wish I could remember all their names to thank them all. We stayed for three nights and seen everything we wanted... More

A wonderful safari experience. Staff were excellent, food superb. Accommodation top notch. Totally unlike any tent I have ever experienced! Didn't feel like any kind of 'camp' but more like a five star hotel. Rangers went all out to give us the best experience and game viewing offering us the Big Five in two days. Fantastic leopard and lion sightings.... More
