For our honeymoon we decided to back to South Africa. 9 years ago we also visited kwa-mbili game lodge. The lodge is still great, good service and amazing wild life viewing. The tracker and the guide are great and showed us some amazing animals up close and personal. We are sure to come back in the future.

We spent three nights in Kwambili in early June 2014 - and we happened to be the only guests there, which was just brilliant, given we had the entire Range Rover to ourselves and got up close and personal with Brad, the ranger, and Ed, the tracker. We saw all of the Big 5 - and loved each of the... More

We stayed at Kwa-Mbili over New Years Holidays 2014. First of all I want to say that I was really freaked out about this trip. I went only because my son and husband talked me into it.. This place was fantastic. I lost all my fears . We saw above and beyond all our expectations. On one of the game... More

It rained hard, very hard, while we were at KwaMbili, causing our booking in a tent to be switched to one of the excellent chalets, but it didn't dampen our enjoyment at all. Gill and the team worked extra hard to make sure our stay was memorable, and it certainly was. The chalets are very well appointed, the camp itself... More

A travelagency in Sweden arranged this booking for us and we had a great time at the lodge. The staff is very friendly and service minded. We also had the luck of getting a very good guide/ranger Eric that made our stay and wildlife trips amazing. The food was very good and probably the amount I should need to function... More

My kids, ages 20 and 12, and I stayed at Kwa-Mbili on the recommendation of a friend. It exceeded our expectations. Each trek -- which was over 3 hours, twice daily -- was a new adventure. We saw such an exciting range of African wildlife! The driver and tracker were friendly and full of expert knowledge. We got so close... More

We stayed for 4 nights in October. Our 2 chalets were interconnecting as we are 2 adults and 3 kids, which was perfect, also close to reception, bar and restaurant. We arrived at around 5h30 pm, so to late for the game drive (we knew that), But we were brought to the hid after we checked in to our rooms... More

Thank you Yosta, Erik, Edde, Sean, Loveness and all the staff at Kwa-Mbili. We enjoyed our stay with you and really enjoyed the food. The game drives were wonderful and informative. Although we didn't get to spot all the animals (lions and elephants were the only 2 of the big 5 that we missed) the close encounters to the others... More

unforgetable experience enjoyed every minute. Staff very friendly and cooperative, meal were superb. Maggie and Loveness were exceptionable.Unfortunately no leopard this time but rhinos were terrific to see both black and white. On the whole good value for money.

Such a special place. Great athmosphere, great people. It was so nice to be welcomed by the staff on arrival but also after each game drive. The game drives were terrific. We stayed 2 nights and had 4 game drives with Eric and Tshepo. They went out of their way for us, especially to find the leopard. And they succeeded!... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
KwaMbili Game Lodge provides an authentic safari experience at an affordable price. KwaMbili is siutated in the Thornybush Game Reserve near Hoedspruit, within the Greater Kruger area. The reserve is home to the Big Five as well as an abundance of other game and bird species. This means good sightings, either while out on game drive or on foot during bush walks. KwaMbili means "Place of Two" in the local Shangaan language. Our knowledgeable rangers will introduce you to the tracks, movements, sights and sounds which give you a window into the secrets of the African bush. Back at the lodge, view wildlife from the safety and comfort of our well-positioned hide. If all this calls for time to just let the experience sink in ... take a dip in the swimming pool, just relax in an armchair or enjoy a cool drink at the bar. ... more   less
