We had an amazing 3 days here. The food was outstanding, the drinks refreshing, the staff accommodating and a total blast. They did a fantastic job helping me with a food allergy and I never felt left out because I couldn't eat something. The guides were amazing and so much fun. Get a massage over at the main lodge. This lodge is definitely the place to stay for superb game viewing, friendly service, and wonderful food. Every aspect of a luxury safari is covered and then some at Thornybush Waterside. The game drives are kept to a small number of people and the guides are very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Doug as your guide, he grew up at a... More

Thornybush Waterside Lodge is adjacent to Kruger National Park but the big difference is that it is a private game lodge. At Kruger Park you are sometimes with more than 10 jeeps at the same place; it is a real safari industrialization. At Thornybush Waterside the rangers goes into the bush in order to let you see the Big 5... More

The Thornybush Park is a private park near Kruger Park. The best facilities are at Thornybush Waterside Game Lodge. Great food and very dedicated people. The rangers are very good (special Malcolm) and don't hesitate to enter into the bush to be closer to a wild animal. As a private park you don't have the problem you will faced in... More

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at Thornybush waterside lodge. The people are beautiful and very helpful. Accommodation was very comfortable and food fabulous. Our trips to view the wildlife were amazing and thanks to our ranger Lucky and spotter Benson, the nicest guys. We saw all the animals in their native habitat and they were healthy and relaxed. Would... More

i stayed at thornybush waterside for two nights in september and really loved it. the setting is beautiful and as the name implies, on a small lake. the bungalows are set in a nice garden with a lot of beautiful fever trees. they are very comfortable and tastefully decorated, african without being "kitsch". food is served in the open air... The Thornybush Waterside experience will be a highlight in our travels. Attentive and friendly staff, creative chefs with excellent food, comfortable and tasteful accommodations, and great and knowledgable guides and trackers. A special shout out to Ross (Precious) and Malcolm (Pumpkin Seed) for their special attention and great sense of humor! Don't miss this outstanding opportunity.

Great time for 5 nights ( you could do it all in 3).. our guide Lucky and tracker Ernest were the best.. in all aspects . We saw everything we wanted to see numerous times, and mostly when we wanted to see them, pretty special. The rooms are nice.. if you can, for privacy, ask for cottage 1 or 2... More

What a magnificent place, the accommodation, public areas, food and service were truly magnificent. Elaine's (the manager) staff are efficient, courteous and smiling at all times, indeed they could teach service to the staff at so called five star hotels in London. Our ranger Lucky and tracker Benson worked hard in getting us to see not only the big five... More

Our experience at the Thornybush Waterside Lodge was truly amazing. From start to finish, everything was perfect. We were met by the staff at the door when we arrived, and ushered to a table set up with lunch just for us! It only got better. Our ranger and tracker were a fantastic team, we saw the Big 5, and lots... More
