Our experience at the Thornybush Waterside Lodge was truly amazing. From start to finish, everything was perfect. We were met by the staff at the door when we arrived, and ushered to a table set up with lunch just for us! It only got better. Our ranger and tracker were a fantastic team, we saw the Big 5, and lots... More

The Waterside Lodge was everything I expected and more. Our ranger and butler were both excellent. The food was also excellent. My only complaint on the food was that I never had a chance to feel one hunger pang and consequently eat more haha! I loved the fact that Waterside was so small. We knew all the people working there... More

On our arrival to the Thorny Bush Reserve, we were greeted by a couple of Rhinos and Giraffes as soon as our car went through the gate. The Lodge itself was amazing. We were greeted by the management who thoughtfully took the time to get to know about us, our likes, interest, favorite foods and everything. The Chalet was impeccable... More

All I can say is - you must go to this place. The facility is cozy and friendly - not too big, but large enough to socialize. Rooms are large and comfortable. We had 2 rooms adjoining for the 4 of us (including 2 kids 7 and 5) and we had plenty of space. There was a nice pool and... More

Beautiful spot, fantastic service, great food, really really good rooms - and superb game drives. We had fairly high expectations of the place, but it surpassed all those expectations. Our guides were Jordan and Richard as ranger and tracker, we had a real laugh with them and they are absolutely amazing at reading the tracks and heading off into deep... More

Excellent and personalized service. Herberth was our Ranger and John was the tracker. Excellent folks. They made sure we saw all the Big 5 plus more. Great vegetarian food. Great ambience. Highly recommended.

Excellent place to stay. Roomy rooms, comfortable beds with electric blankets, mini bar. The food was excellent as well as the service, we were a large group of 43 and booked out the whole camp. With no fences around the camp, you could walk into a warthog or some buck. The rangers and trackers took us to all the Big... More

We spent 5 nights at Thornybush Waterside Lodge in early June 2014. The staff were so great and looked after us so well! Mr T kept us all well fed with delicious food. The rooms were kept spotless and were large with a huge bed, nearly needed a stepladder to get into it. Luckily it had electric blankets as the... More

We had brilliant stay at Thornybush Waterside Lodge. It was a complete experience. Our check in etc. was very well handled. We were group of 12 vegetarian people and our food needs were fully accomadated with Chef working out different vegetarian dishes. As far as Game drives are concerned, they were awesome. Our rangers Nick and Jordan knew their area,... More

A wonderful experience at Thorny Bush - the accommodation was tastefully decorated, generous in size and overlooked a pleasant garden within a natural setting with all its animal noises and no fences :). Excellent meals. The Game drives were amazing and we got to see the big 5x including leopard. Our tracker and "Lucky" our driver were both knowledgable and... More
