African Bush experience I will cherish forever! just a stone throw away from Hoedspruit Airport, we spent a weekend at this luxurious Safari Lodge in April, and Boy!! I don't know where to start! Five star elegance in the middle of the bush! Thornybush offers a personalised service second to none! Personal Guide and Tracker who on our first game... More

we stayed at Thornybush for 3 nights in Aug 2015 and this was by far one of the most pleasant stays we have had on a vacation. The people at the lodge work tirelessly to personalize the entire experience to your needs and ensure that everyone goes back satisfied and with incredible memories. Thanks to our ranger Chad and tracker... More

What a magnificent location to spend my 50th birthday at. The game viewing was fantastic seeing the Big 5 in our first two drives, our Guide and Tracker were very knowledgeable and keen to teach us different things about animal behaviour and the local fora and fauna. They both had such deep respect for the bush and the wildlife. Having... More

This was our first stop on our first visit to Africa, and it was incredible! We saw all the Big 5 (if you need a reminder: buffalo, rhino, elephant, leopard, lion) within 24 hours, as well as zebra, giraffe, hyena, warthogs, all kinds of deer and birds - and I could keep going. Our ranger was Grant, and our tracker... More

The entire experience was unique.. From the time of landing in the small Cessna to the stay in some of the finest rooms, the exquisite safaris to the night time entertainment! Everything was beyond expectations.. I want to thank our guides for making our vacation a very memorable one..

THis is an interesting place to see wildlife. Because it is private land, the guides are very aggressive and the wildlife seems to be habituated to this behavior - surprising how close and fast the jeeps go. THis is very different from seeing wildlife in the big national parks in Zimbabwe and Botswana where the guides are very careful, drive... More

We stayed at Thornybush Game Lodge as part of a travel package that did not break out cost, so were not aware of the pricing until we asked. When we asked the about the average nightly cost, it was very surprising that we were able to experience such luxury at that price: it covered the beautiful room (see detail below),... More

The service was superb, the rooms spectacular and the hospitality was on a completely other level! I went with my father and we managed to have one of the best experiences ever! The lodge was a 5 star gorgeous and classy place to stay. On our game drives we saw the big 5 and had close encountered with animals you'd... More

The rooms are very nice, clean, spacious and with a big terrace over the bush. The food is good and the staff is nice and kind. We had 5 unforgettable safari (4 by car and 1 by foot) with our ranger, Ross, during which we managed to see the famous "big five"!!

We were so wonderfully pleased by every aspect of our visit to the "Lodge" that we already want to return! The treatment we received by every staff member was so great. Our beautiful butler Grace, tracker July and guide Jeluka will forever stay with us. The promise of seeing the big five was kept and it was incredible. Thank you.... More
