We recently spent a few nights at Thornybush as part of a group. The whole experience was absolutely wonderful. The rooms have absolutely everything one could imagine. It overlooks the dry riverbed and a few nyalas walked by during the day. The rooms are spacious and our room had a kingsize bed with a mosquito net. The bathroom has a... More

We recently stayed at Thornybush with my family and had a wonderful time. The staff were very attentive and friendly, the rooms were amazing and we saw the big five several times! Our game driver, Owen, our tracker July and our butler, Anthony were fantastic hosts. We would highly recommend Thornybush.

my husband, and two children (8 and 10) spent 4 nights at the Thornybush main lodge in August. It was wonderful. they brought out a cake for my daughter's 11th birthday and made her feel very special. Of course we saw the big 5. Our safari guide and tracker made sure of it. The entire experience was surreal. It was... More

I came to Thornybush in a large group on what was a sort of an extended family honeymoon. We had expected it to be quite special for this reason, but I don't think we could have ever imagined how fantastic it would be. The rooms were delightful, right in the bush complete with bath overlooking the river bed, as well... More

Unbelievable lodge! The service is impeccable, the staff delightful and the food delicious! The bush drives are so good....we have seen 28 mammals and 100's of species of birds. We've seen elephants (with babies), lions (with babies), a leopard and her cub, hippos (with babies), cape buffalo (with babies), giraffes (with babies), zebra (with babies), both white and black rhinos... We stayed at the Nkelenga Tented Camp (self catering) in the Thornybush Game reserve. We were a family of 10, staying for 3 nights. For some of us it was our 2.visit. The camp and game viewing is excellent. We enjoyed the privacy of the camp, as we had the whole camp to ourselves.

Very nice lodge at the private game reserve. 5 rooms totally that were occupied by our group so very peaceful a private corner in the savana! The lodge is very well furnished, rooms and bathrooms are quite large, internal and external shower, bathtub. Just few things missing in the rooms and not replaced (showergel, bottle of water from previous clients).... More

Thornybush was our first stop on our South Africa trip. Being a little jet lagged and tired from the drive from Joburg, I was probably a bit cranky. However, that changed quickly as we entered the park, saw a few animals, and were greeted like we were family. The place is all about friendly service. After a quick greeting and... More

Recently spent a weekend at the Thorny Bush Lodge and really had a great time. The service and facilities are really top class with great game sightings. The meals really are a treat with very good variety.

My wife and I were on our first safari trip, and we decided to split it up by staying at two different lodges/reserves. Thornybush Main lodge was the second place we stayed at. Oh boy, what a treat! This place was incredible. Service was exceptional! Lodge itself, beautiful. And most importantly, game drives were the best. Our ranger Jamie and... More
