The person who made this safari lodge different from the rest is mama Connie. Her powerful voice and unique laughter filled the lodge. We had the chance to compare two &Beyond lodges and here are the things mama Connie does it differently under her leadership... 1. we were given a different cocktail and a warm towel each time we returned... this place welcomes you and tries so hard. Our guide really let it down he just seemed so blase. He went through the motions but was so disinterested and bored we felt rather let down. He found a few animals and the last day he found leopard but nothing seemed to really excite him and it seemed he was just... More

We recently returned to this lovely lodge. We stayed in the safari suite which is beautiful, it's spacious and ideal for family's as it has two bedrooms and two bathrooms with incredible views from every room even the loo has a view as the bathrooms have huge floor length glass windows, really beautiful. There is a separate area with a... More

This was our second visit to Ngala and yet again, we had an excellent trip. The lodge is comfortable, the food is excellent (especially the gammon for breakfast!), the staff are exceptional and the game viewing out of this world. From the matriach, Mama Connie, to the waiter Colly, to our excellent ranger / tracker team of Pieter & Norman... More

I love this place, the people, the food and the safari drives. Its truly a dream holiday and I personally think very good value for money. There are, of course, more luxurious lodges to stay in, but Ngala is very very beautiful and comfortable and the furnishings are gorgeous. Our Ranger Rhett and our tracker Joe were simply amazing. This place is absolutely amazing. The cottages are clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and home made - nothing was missed. The staff here are so friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you want and need (thanks mama Connie!). Now, for the reason we went: the big 5! We saw them regularly.... Going on safari was not on my bucket list, but thought it would be fun with a group of 14 friends.  Since it wasn't really that expensive, I assumed we'd be pretty close to camping-I was way off.  The room was more like a private guest house and the open air public spaces  elegant and comfortable. The food was frequent... More

Over the past forty five years i have travelled the world a stayed in a complete cross-section of places & hotels from grubby to luxury. But for an overall experience &beyound Nagala Game Lodge has to easily rank in the top 5. The location and Game Drives were excellent and the Rangers together with the tracker were exceptional. I read the "average" reviews and they seemed unfair. If you're reading this then just know Ngala is not the Four Seasons in the middle of the bush (not sure why someone who does a bit of homework would think that). Chances are that if you are thinking about going on safari you want a safari experience, and a pedicure... More

My wife and I went on honeymoon here and had an absolutely fantastic time. Not only was the accommodation, service and food of the highest standard, but the expert game rangers and trackers made sure that the wildlife experience was second to none. In the space of seven game drives we saw all of the Big Five including the best... More
