Everything about Africa on Foot is outstanding. It is a more rustic safari experience than many lodges, but that is what makes it so great. The staff feels like family. Mealtimes are around a large dining table with the small group of guests (there were only 5 others besides my husband and myself) and staff members, including the guide and... More

We stayed here with our 3 children (10,7,5) and it was an incredible experience. The guides Patrick and Enoch were so welcoming and full of knowledge. Our rooms were beautifully made everyday and the food was always scrumptious and plentiful. The staff were all so fantastic with our children and taught us so much about the animals and the native... I’ve been on more safaris than most, but this was my first time to Africa on Foot in the Klaserie Reserve, north of Sabi Sands and west of Timbavati. I enjoyed a wonderful walk through the wilderness with tracker Enoch Ngwenya and our ranger Mike Beard, a Keanu Reeves lookalike, only way more rugged. I know who I'd rather be... More

Africa on foot is a lodge that kind of like in the middle of nowhere. We drove to the camp by ourselves (a pick up at the park entrance is possible). That was kind of an adventure, because you have to go there on the same dirt roads you are on your safari trips! The place is very nice and... More

Our first time at AOF.....a 'true' safari experience. We have been on other safaris, but nothing like this. Our first morning game drive turned out to be a little more than we anticipated! We were on our way back from seeing 2 lionesses and cubs when we spotted a leopard. While in pursuit, the leopard suddenly lunged out of the... More

Our second time in Africa on Foot and our third time at the same company. 'N Thambo Tree camp is a sister camp. We had again a very nice stay. Thanks to the staff, owner, guides and trackers. The silence is wonderfull and the animals that walks in the camp is amazing. For sure that I go back there. Thanks... More

Intimate, beautiful, serene and incredibly warm staff! Well done guys, I actually got full relief of all that stress from 2014. The drives had to have been some of the most educational I've had, I learnt more than I ever have on a bush trip and I have been doing this all my life. Food was great and the company... More

I am a returning guest, this time with friends from abroad. On the first game drive we already saw 4 out of the big 5. Our guided walk was less eventful but still a thrilling experience to be walking in the African bushveld. Game rangers and trackers are very knowledgeable and the staff treat you like family. Rooms are comfortable... More

Best to avoid this place in the summer months: the basic facilities and intermittent electricity make for uncomfortable days and nights: the pool being the only respite. The kind and well meaning staff have no obvious professional training (except the guides, thankfully) and seem to be left to their own devices by owners.

I stayed at AOF with my partner for only 1 night. However the place felt super cosy and the people were so welcoming and nice. We had really good vibes about the place despite our short stay. We also saw quite alot of animals there as well. Would recommend to friends!
