Unfortunately, we stayed here during a tropical depression, so we were unable to leave the camp for safaris due to the weather. They were ill-prepared with alternative activities during our stay, and we were not refunded any of our money for the cancelled safaris. The food was above average, but you have to pay for your drinks separately. They do... More

Do not hesitate to visit the Kapama Buffalo Camp! Many animals to see during the two daily safaris, great food in all the meals, the staff very friendly...in resume: you'll get happy and relaxed in here, you can be sure!

Our experience at Buffalo Camp was just plain AWESOME!!! Originally we were scheduled to stay at Karula lodge, however due to the damage by the flood, we were switched to Buffalo camp. The tents were MUCH MORE luxurious then we ever expected. The room was large, the bed extremely comfortable, there was a deep soaking tub and separate shower in... More

We had a wonderful experience at Kapama Buffalo Camp. Our ranger Almero and tracker Benson were great and knowledgeable, not to mention funny too. Accommodation is really nice and comfortable, it’s definitely the best tent I’ve ever slept in! The food is great, nothing haute cuisine – but definitely yummy and as one might expect, great meat dishes! When it’s... More

Was in South Africa checking out lodges earlier this month. Checked out Kapama lodges, including Buffalo Camp. I had high expectations for this little lodge, and the pictures on the website led me to believe it would be extremely well done. Unfortunately, I did not find this the case. This is a very small camp. While they have all the... More

I am sad to say that we did not have a very memorable stay at this property. As soon as we checked in, the General Manager said to us “I am very busy right now, and I will have to get back to you in an hours’ time with my happy face”, so she sent us off with one of... More

From arrival at hoedspruit to departure our time at Kapama was filled with amazing experiences and fantastic people. The place and tents are 5 star luxurious, the food tasty with a big variety but the safari drives are what make this place something special. We were lucky enough to have Collen as our ranger and David as our tracker who... More

Really nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great big clean rooms - however the food does not meet the level of the rest of the place (we would give the food 3 stars). If you drive by rental car from Johannesburg its a beautiful scenic drive but a lot of potholes!! so maybe its better to rent a 4-wheel drive rather... More

A friend and I stayed at Kapama Buffalo Lodge last October. Although our stay was only for 3 nights, we can honestly say that our stay was beyond "first class" from the beginning to end. The accommodations are beautiful, the staff is friendly and very accommodating and the game drives, well, thanks to Collen and Almero, were like something out... More
