One of the highlights of our three week trip to South Africa was our two night stay at Kapama River Lodge. It is a private game preserve with beautiful rooms and a full service lodge with spa. We arrived mid-afternoon, quickly changed clothes, and got ready for our first game drive. Our group climbed on board a 9 seat safari... More

This is a copy of the review I sent in reply to the Kapama marketing team's query of our experience: The lodging facilities were excellent and the rooms were magnificent. However, we were quite disappointed with our game drive. We understood that the weather was against us and that many animals were not visible. However, we felt our guide (FW)... More

Everything was just perfect: The drives were fun and we learned a lot about the animals. We got to see so many animals - from baby elephants to hunting lions. The room was spacious and luxurious. The spa was beautiful and the massage super relaxing. We absolutely loved our stay there and would recommend this place to anyone!!

Had a wonderful experience in South Africa, especially at the Kapama Lodge. Anyone visiting South Africa will be mesmerized by its beauty, landscape and the wonderful people. How can you not love the people who have emerged from apartheid and are now looking into the future without any bitterness? Folks at Kapama are friendly and courteous. Rooms are clean, food... More

Our 3 night stay over 10th to 13th Nov at Kapama River Lodge was clearly AMAZING & just about 'One of a Kind'! The game drives with Clive, the Ranger & Freddy, the Tracker were truly memorable & full of 'surprises' round every corner! They were so alert, well informed & cordial to get along with, they made every one... More

Our stay here was the highlight of a very enjoyable 4 week holiday in South Africa. A lovely lodge with all the amenities you would expect for the price, including a great Spa. Well appointed, large rooms, each of which has a private balcony. Three buffet meals a day (plus afternoon tea) provided far more food than we needed (and... More

Kapama Tips: - the Hoedspruit airport is tiny. make sure you use the bathroom in Jo'burg or on the plane otherwise you can be stuck in long queues! - even if you are going in the summer, bring lots of clothes for layering: cardigan, sweater, windbreaker, blanket, jacket, etc as it can be quite chilly in the early morning and... After a four hour drive from Pretoria, we were hot and tired upon arrival. We were greeted at our car, out luggage disappeared and we were offered cold lemonade-a nice arrival touch that set the tone for great service. We stayed in the main lodge, which is closer to the action than thespa rooms. Rooms were clean and well appointed.... More

A really great safari lodge with fantastic staff. The safari guides & spotters are great (took a little time to warm to them but they were great fun in the end!) & it's a nice touch that they dine with your group each evening. Whilst the breakfast & lunch buffets are rather lavish in terms of variety, the evening buffet... More

Rooms are really nice. You might get some creepy crawlies (we had a visiting scorpion) but no biggie. Food is OK. Nothing wrong with it. But the price charged per room makes you expect a bit more. Game drives rock. Very informative rangers.. You get to see all sorts of wildlife up close and personal. The only thing that needs... More
