What an amazing bush experience! The game drives were amazing, the ranger was knowledgeable and experienced and the drives were very informative. We came very close to the animals, an exciting experience that you will not likely get anywhere else. The staff is very competent and friendly, and the food was also absolutely delicious!

We stayed at Toro Yaka for a very short break and were smitten. Not only is it superb value, the intimate feel and wonderful staff make it a place truly worth visiting again. Rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean while meals are delicious. In our case, even the wildlife was highly cooperative. We didn't get to see a leopard to... More

Three nights was not nearly enough! From the moment we arrived I knew that we were in for a treat. Nicole and Shinga (sweet pup) greeted us warmly with lemon iced tea, cool wash cloths and puppy kisses. Nicole gave us a thorough orientation and tour that made us feel immediately at home. We stayed in the Lion room and... More

We stayed in Toro Yaka only for 2 nights/days, and wished we had stayed longer. It's a small establishment, which is what we like. The common area were well kept. The room was spacious and clean, and we found the bed comfortable. Every meal was gourmet quality.... the best food we had in our entire trip. Steve is a bird... More

It's our 2nd visit in 10 months to Toro Yaka. It left such an impression on us the first time we just had to get back! I think it's safe to say that Toro Yaka has a special formula that is better than any medicine. With the ambience, the friendliness, the impeccable service and the simplicity of being in the... More

Back for a second two week stay at Toro Yaka in July/August this year. Even more amazing than last year! Wonderful owners and staff, great company, outstanding food and the most incredible animal experiences that we will remember for ever. Already booked another trip next year!

This is an excellent value-for-money bush lodge stay. A small lodge accommodating a max of 8 guests. Nicole and Steve will warmly welcome you and make you feel like you are staying with friends. Food is excellent and of a quality comparable to the best high-end lodges. Nicole even baked delicious gluten free bread for me which was really appreciated!... More

We stayed at Toro Yaka for 3 days/3 nights (myself, 21 yr old son, 19 yr old daughter), travelling from New York and North Carolina for our first safari excursion and 2nd trip to South Africa. Hospitality and accomodation provided by the owners Steve and Nicole was 5 star, but price was not, so extremely good value for the money.... More

This was our first stop on our honeymoon trip, and easily the most memorable and brilliant experience of our lives. The first thing that I want to discuss (that may come as a surprise to most) is food - Nicole claims to be a 'home cook still learning' - she needs to reconsider her introduction as the food we were... What a wonderful experience. Just a nice size place, great food great staff. Saw some amazing things on the game drive, really knowledgable guide and spotter putting us right on the animals every time. Thanks Nicole, Steve and Mike - so awesome!
