The reason to go is the amazing views on the game drives, twice/day. Okker and Eric made sure that we saw all of the animals, up close and personal, even if they had to drive over some bush or through a river to get us there. While we were observing (and snapping pictures) Okker explained the animals' habits to us,... More

Been to South Africa and Kruger area many many times. Best wildlife viewing yet at Idube Lodge. Okker and Titus were our guides and just awesome. Almost missed my flight back because a leopard was wondering around in front of my cottage. Great Food, great service !

Stayed for 4 nights in July 2014 with my wife and 2 teenage girls in the Makubela suites. The suites were gorgeous with a virtually all glass back overlooking the bush. To add to the adventure, one night there was a leapord outside our room and another night we were awoken to an elephant grazing right by our bathroom window.... More

We spent 7 nights (3 at Idube and 4 at Lukimbi Lodges) at Idube in July this year having a fabulous experience. As photographers we got the' up close and personal experience' with the big 5 daily that gave us an unforgettable experience. The meals were first class too, adapting to my dietary requests. We enjoyed the boma experience dining... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at both Idube and Lukimbi lodges in November 2013, two nights at each property. Both have their perks, and I highly recommend splitting your time between the two if possible. Idube is all about the drives. We had amazing guides, Rob was our driver and Titus was the spotter. What I... More

Usually Private Lodges are only affordable to foreign visitors - this is the exception to the rule. Not that it is cheap - it is just less expensive!! This was an excellent long-weekend - the big 5 within the first 24 hours, with 4 sightings of leopards (with their kills), sleeping lions x 2, buffalo, rhino x 5 and elephants... More

We had a wonderful three days at the Idube Game Reserve Lodge. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the Makubele suite is very luxurious. Our Ranger Brogan was newly qualified but you would think he had been doing the job for years. He was professional, friendly, and amazingly informative about the animals, birds and shrubs and had a... More

This was our first time in South Africa and our first safari so we have nothing to compare it with but ..we loved every minute. We spent three nights here in July. Our ranger Andries and trackers Ronald and then Titus were so professional, experienced and knowledgable. Not only did we find and track 5 leopards, a cheetah, hyenas, white... More

Idube was just as it looks on the website. Stone cottages scattered across a manicured lawn. Our standard chalet held a large bed, wardrobe, chairs, tables, with room to spare. The double sink bath held both shower and tub. An unattractive (in my opinion) shower has been added to the outside of the chalets (we dried out laundry there). Electricity,... More
