Being our first safari in South Africa, it's obviously the best we've experienced, but having now done a couple of day tours, we now know what great looks like and Honeyguides was great. We saw 4 of the big 5 most days, but it's so much more than that. Experiencing the other "little 50" is what makes it so special.... More

Great experience, you really are in the bush. Our first visit to a reserve. The guides were "Brilliant" in all ways. The facilities are basic but match the locations. Saw all the big 5 and more. The best entertainment was the New Yorker who irritated the Hippo, who hadn't moved for 24 hours, into frightening the life out of him.... More

Our family visited Honeyguide over the holidays for Safari, and it was a trip I will never forget. Everything about the camp was amazing. The staff were so kind and helpful, the food was incredible, and seeing the animals so close to us was the most amazing part. The camp has a lookout over the watering hole and we would... More

I don't normally write reviews but I was speaking to other guests one night at dinner who said they'd read some bad reviews and wondered why... I also wonder why. If you want an impersonal, luxury safari then this is not your place. Honeyguides is a no-nonsense safari with knowledgeable and friendly guides that are passionate about their work, the... More

it was such a wonderful experience. The camp's location is so good; you really feel that you are in the middle of the "bush". the camp's watering hole saw lots of animals come to drink, elephants, wildebeest, Hippo, water buffalos and the rare wild African dogs to mention just a few.. all the staff were terrific, the food was superb... We arrived after a mammoth journey to SA to a lightning storm and a warm welcome from our hosts. The three nights we spent were truly memorable, the catering and bar were perfectly acceptable for the Bush but the real thing was the excellence of our guides Fanuel and Johnson. We saw lion cheetah elephant rhino zebra and giraffe....a lot... More

My boyfriend and I visited Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp after looking at several options. We wanted something that was a bit rustic, where you were close to the wildlife and the bush. This safari delivered! The staff are incomparable -- incredibly knowledgeable, generous with their experiences and professional. They went above and beyond to create a memorable experience for us --... More

My husband and I visited South Africa last September and October and started our trip with a safari. We decided to stay in two different locations in order to get two different experiences and maybe encounter different animals. We are not really into camping, so we were a bit unsure about what to expect. We were expecting to get a... More

We were not looking for a resort setting, but a more bush-like experience and Honeyguide (Mantobeni Camp) definitely delivered. While you do stay in tents, it is hardly roughing it--hot and cold running water, electricity, furniture, etc. Several afternoons we sat on the comfort of the sofa while various animals walked right past the tent. The rangers and trackers are... More

Honeyguide tents have all comforts considered. You can hear every animal and bird noise at night including hyenas and lions which is exciting but probably not for the faint hearted. Everything about our 3 days exceeded expectations - our guides Twice and Anton Were fantastic and made sure our safaris were as varied and interesting as possible and their knowledge... More
