This was our first safari; so I wanted to do it right. Our experience at Rattray's could not have been better. The accommodations were truly outstanding. We had our own bungalow with separate dressing rooms and bathrooms. We had our own private plunge pool and a view of the river and animals right from our back door. The food was... More

The accommodations at this camp are amazing. Almost too nice to be honest. Brendan our guide, ranger, dinner companion... etc. was super and we could not have asked for a more friendly, knowledgable fellow. He showed us a great time from sunrise to sunset. The animal viewing was more then expected and will stay with me forever. On the downside,... More

My wife and I just stayed for 4 nights at Rattrays and had the most amazing time. We have both been before and stayed at Sable camp which was also fantastic. This is an extremely special place with fantastic game, amazing rooms, fantastic food and the staff are truly amazing. They can't do enough to help yet not a stuffy... More

My wife, one daughter and I spent two days at Rattray's in late February. in comparison to other safari camps that we visited, everything was exceptional: the entire staff, the spacious rooms with their twin bathrooms and changing rooms, the delicious food, the game viewing and especially Jonathan, the ranger who took care of us non stop for 48 hours.... We stayed at Mala Mala Ratray's Camp for 3 nights as part of the Safari portion of our honeymoon, we also spent 3 nights at their sister property Mashatu in Botswana. The two properties are vastly different, in that Mala Mala in Kruger is much more lush and you can see the animals a bit easier. In fact, on our... More

Rattray's is an exceptional resort for many reasons: - Service: The service is impeccable, from the general managers, to the rangers, to the cooking staff, everyone knows your name and treats you like family. There are only 16 guests at the entire resort, and the level of personal touch is impeccable. - Facilities: Each "room" (khaya = house) comes with... More

Ratrays at Mala Mala is simply superb. The service is outstanding, the resort stunning and recently built (2007), the rooms are magnificent and the Safari experience amazing. On our first day, right after we arrived via a small plane on their private landing strip, we were whisked off by our guide Michael, and immediately we saw the Big 5 followed... More

We stayed for four nights in October 2013 as part of our honeymoon. MalaMala is simply the best. It's by far the largest private game reserve in the area - making the animal viewing is unparalleled given proximity to the river. We saw all of the big five on the first day. The next two days there were torrential rains... More

A top notch establishment- I don't have one bad thing to say about the place. The staff was terrific and the property was stunningly beautiful. The rooms are pretty darn swanky: cable television, wifi internet, air conditioning, two bathrooms, a bathtub, and a large patio with a private little dipping pool. The food was terrific! The area is teeming with... More

I agree with other reviews that this exceeded my expectations. The service, accomodations, food and the game drives were terrific. I wish I came to this safari camp last as the others I visited later could not compare although they were still very good. The animal viewing was amazing.
