We just experienced our second trip to Mala Mala and were, once again, thrilled. The accomodations were first class, and the staff was exceptional. The managers of the camp, Alex and Nerine attended to our every need. One day someone in our group needed to see a doctor, and it was arranged, with camp transportation quickly and efficiently. Our guide... More

MalaMala really is a destination like no other. Coming in from a wildlife photographer's point of view, the amount of sightings, and the type of sightings one has is endless and spectacular. The guides are all incredibly knowledgeable and ensure that their guests have an inspiring experience.

We visited this camp over the Christmas holidays for 2 nights and were blown away by the game viewing. Saw the Big 5 on 3 separate occasions - on our first morning there, saw all 5 before breakfast! Game viewing is the reason to go. Sabi Sands is fantastic in that they are able to off-road and get very up... More

This was our base for two nights for our safari drives. AMAZING!! Divine spacious accommodation right in amongst the animals no fences! Views across a watering hole from our own verandah, infinity pool where animals can be viewed passing - loads of elephants!!!! Rangers are so knowledgable and friendly and took us to see much more than the big five!!!!... More

Malamala main camp is absolutely incredible. The staff went out of their way to insure my sister and I had gluten free vegetarian options at every meal and the meals were delicious! The camp itself is beautiful. The water source runs behind the lodgings so animal sightings out your back door are a regular occurrence. Our ranger, James Moodie was... More

Being used to tented safari we were surprised at the size of the room with two bathrooms and dressing rooms and large bedroom. We were there to photograph so time spent in the room was mainly to sleep. There is a pool and reading rooms and large deck to enjoy the river land in front. Our room overlooked a pond... More

We went as part of a group tour (Titan) and frankly it made the tour. The room had the most wonderful picture window facing the river and there was a huge amount of space with his and her bathrooms and dressing rooms. Attention to detail was good and the drives excellent. Our guide - Bens - was hugely knowledgeable and... More

Several things are important to know about Mala Mala. 1) they use only a guide and not an accompanying tracker or spotter. Most camps in this area use both a tracker and a guide. IMO this is a handicap particularly on night drives when the tracker/spotter holds the light. First time safari goers probably won't know the difference but more... More

This was the sixth time we had visited Mala Mala but the first time during winter. Once again we were unbelievably well looked after (our ranger Jonno Short remains a genius). The primary reason to go to a camp is to go and immerse yourself in the bush. With shorter and cooler days in winter we were able to stay... More
