From the very beginning the staff was super friendly. We booked a room online the day before, but when we checked in we asked if there were better rooms. The manager took us to three different rooms that he thought we would like so that we could take our pick, we picked his favorite. The room was wonderful, big four-poster... more

Beautiful location, very affordable & clean. We stayed in 2nd floor family room with a balcony overlooking beautiful view of mountains. The furniture in the room, was beautiful solid dark wood & the room was huge. This is an older hotel, that can sure use updating. But for the cost & location, it can't be beat more

The staff we encountered from the front desk, to housekeeping, security, bar and restaurant, were all outstanding - they could teach a few 4 star hotels a thing about hospitality! The hotel gets kudos on that. But, there were issues. As one reviewer mentioned, having a confirmation number and confirmed room number didn't matter - none of us in our... more

I agree with the previous reviewer - it is what it is. We booked last minute online because we didn't feel like driving all over Ruidoso in the middle of the night looking for a place to stay on our way to Lincoln Nat'l Forest to camp. It does smell bad in the lobby and the carpet is pretty past... more

The Swiss Chalet is what it is, a functional hotel with a restaurant and a pool. A staffer there named Matt went above and beyond however and made what was a rough situation survivable. During the flooding my friends and I were forced to seek other accommodations and found the last room at the Swiss Chalet. The next morning as... more

This hotel is musty, smelling, carpeting needing repair, unfriendly desk personnel. Housekeeping needs more practice. Reservations lost, must cover yourself with having your confirmation number available or its your word against theirs. Not a hotel I will return to. more

Made my reservation only 10 days before the stay; Rebecca at the front desk assured me that it would be no problem and gave me the discounted rate of $55 for being with a wedding party. On day of arrival, I called ahead to see if I could get checked in earlier than their 4pm time, Janice at the front... more

We stayed here several years ago and would agree with most of the previously posted reviews concerning the rooms – we would not stay there again and this made us even more hesitant about eating in their restaurant. However, a recent article in the local newspaper talked about the change in management at the restaurant and the improvement in the... more

We just what place to CRASH after skiing. Ruidoso is not Vale. I don't there to "shop" or for "fine dining. " The SC is closest... more

The Swiss Chalet Inn's website promised a continental breakfast and "all day" coffee and tea service in lobby. Neither was the case. After a long day snow skiing nearby, we looked forward to enjoying the hot tub and indoor heated swimming pool. Unfortunately, the hot tub was empty, and the "out-of-order" sign was yellowing, as it apparently had been taped... more
