My husband and I were fortunate enough to start our African bush/safari adventures with US friends-originally from Zimbabwe, their SA family and friends. So 4 couples started off thru Kruger - Talamati - self catering then on to the Galago side of Djuma. We had shopped for all our supplies-food, liquor, snacks prior to departing Nelspruit. When we arrived at... More

Lovely accomodations of luxurious cottages with great views, private little pools, opportunity to watch the wildlife from your own outdoor leisure area. Twice daily safari starting with wake up call at 5Am and morning tea with cookies in a detached private snack area .Outdoor shower visited by monkeys. Everything well organized. Excellent meals, good service, interesting library, well supplied bar,... More

We visited Galago camp, Djuma in the Sabi Sand Reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park. It is a self-catering resort, allowing us to bring our own food, cook the meat and decide on the menu, while the staff did all the hard work for us - cleaning, washing up, lighting the fire, preparing salads, mielie pap and gravy, potatoes... We spent an unbelievable weekend in the Vuyatela camp. The accommodation is excellent and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. As far as animal sightings went, we saw all of the big five as well as seldom seen animals like wild dogs and porcupines. I can truly recommend this camp as it is run as a self-catering facility which gives you... More

We had Handry as our guide and he really worked hard to find the wildlife. He revelled in going offroad, and always made sure to get us the best viewing even when jeeps from other companies would not go offroad... The food was excellent and the setting is quite quirky. We'd just come from Kapama River Lodge, and despite Djuma... More

Now Cheetah Plains - we were treated like VIPs. Service was perfect. Chef first class- food plentiful and delicious. The staff are all incredibly attentive, friendly and the managers particularly knowledgable and interesting. Able and Retson took us on the best game drives ever. Saw big 5 in abundance ( we were very lucky ) also mating leopards, plus fascinating... More

We too stayed here for a few days as part of a World Cup trip and even though we have been on safari to Botswana, we were overwhelmed with the quality of game viewing here. Leopard sightings on 5 out of 6 drives, which is what we came for, plus the rest of the Big 5 almost at will. Credit... More

We spent three days at this game reserve/lodge during our recent trip to South Africa for the World Cup Soccer tournament. This was an incredible experience. The staff were fantastic and the rangers who took us out to see the animals ( Able and Andrew) were absolutely first class. They were able to show us all the big Five game... More

Sorry this review is slow in the making. I stayed Bush Lodge mid-September 2009. The primary reason for staying there was I wanted to meet the Wildearth - Safari TV team who are based at Djuma, as well as hopefully see some of the animals seen on the Safari TV webcam daily drives. I arranged to be picked up at... More

I loved this place and would go back in a heart beat! Rooms were immaculate, thoughtfully appointed, comfortable, peaceful, perfect. The staff is really the highlight of the trip. Everyone at the lodge is very knowledgeable and eager to answer any question you have about animals, South Africa, the local villages, astronomy, orchids, literally anything. The guides were enthusiastic and... More
