Terrible management. The people that work here are nice but the management stinks. No attention to detail. Find another place to stay. Unfortunately they are superficial because it is a beautiful place.

Going to Africa is not a simple matter these days. Planning takes months with much research and consultations with travel agents. We had planned to spend 2 weeks in South Africa with my niece and sister in law, using Cape Town as the starting point. Our travel agent, Helen Kirby @ Rhino Africa, suggested we might enjoy a few days... More

Our matriarch of 80 years had always wanted to go on Safari with her brood. Our group planned for over 2 years to give this gift to their "Gram". Our choice was Ivory Lodge, which had luxury accommodations for 12 and allowed us to have the entire property to ourselves. This was key for us, since we wanted to be... More

I took my whole family (wife, 2 kids and mum and dad) to Ivory Lodge in July. We had an incredible time. The rooms were fantastic, with beautiful views of the river where elephants, buffalo and other animals regularly came to drink. The food was fantastic, and Aubrey our butler was a gem. They catered for our kids perfectly and... More

In many years of travel, I have never taken the time to review a hotel before now. The Lion Sands Ivory Lodge was fantastic in every way, food, lodging, service and game drives. The staff genuinely want you to relax and enjoy your trip. The food is delicious and there are many opportunities to try it. Not only are the... More

We stayed at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge for 3 nights and it was by far our favorite stop on our 16 day tour of South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The hotel suites were immaculate with a huge oh so comfy bed, gorgeous sitting room, massive tub and your own pool and deck from which you can watch the hippos and... More

This was our first experience with an African Safari accommodation and what an experience it was. Our villa was breathtaking overlooking the Sabi River. There were two huge rooms with full length windows - one a beautiful bedroom with huge bathroom and the other a large living room with fireplace and bar. Between the two rooms was a lovely open... We spent 18 days traveling in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Our favorite place was the Ivory lodge at Lions Sand. When we walked into our room, we were astounded at the beauty of the accommodations. It was beyond our expectations. Descriptions cannot do the facility justice.... immaculately clean, incredible staff, unbelievable attention to detail, gourmet food, exceptionally knowledgable guides. The... More

We were blown away when we arrived at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge. Everything was amazing and could not be faulted. Solly our butler was so warm and wonderful and did everything he could to look after us inside the lodge from lighting our fire to making sure we had all the drink and food we wanted. He was always happy... More
