This is my 4th safari, but my first at an andBeyond property, but definitely not my last, as this was my favourite experience so far. We only stayed for 2 nights, but would love to have spent longer, but we were moving on for another 2 nights at a different andBeyond property in Sabi Sands. The quality of service and... More

We stayed at Kirkman's on April 3 and 4 with our 2 kids ages 13 and 10. We travel extensively at andBeyond properties because of the quality of service and accommodation and have never been disappointed. I was a bit tentative booking at Kirkman's because the pictures showed it to be quite rustic and didn't seem to be on par... More

We visted Kirkman's Kamp for only one night, and it was too short a stay to fully evaluate the Kamp. But we were very impressed with it. It is an old hunting camp owned by the Kirkman family. Many pictures and trophys are from the days when they truly hunted wild game there, and it's such a much better feeling... More

we spent three weeks (November 12) driving around South Africa...it was an incredible vacation...the stay at Kirkman's was one of the best experiences of my life...we have a picture of our stay on a bureau which is the first thing you see when you walk in our house...Kirkman's is not the most lavish lodge on the reserve..nevertheless, it is outstanding...the... Kirkmans Kamp will be a mixed review. Our game drives were spectacular and our guide was truly fantastic (JP was our guide and Ex was our tracker-- what a wonderful team!) and committed to providing a great experience. The room was a bit of a disappointment after Exeter River Lodge (the size was about 1/3 of the size of River... More

We had a memorable time at Kirkman's. We have traveled the world extensively, but Kirkman's provided us with an unparalleled experience. It's a place that just feels right, the staff is great and they all seem to get along very well. The safaris were obviously the highlight thanks to the fantastic area, rangers and trackers - returning to the lodge... More

I am completely sold on all the &Beyond properties I have visited in the last few years and am having a hard time deciding on my favourite. When I visited Kirkman's Kamp a few years ago I was wowed by the service and yet slightly underwhelmed by the standard of the rooms/lodge. We had booked 3 nights at Exeter River... More

Kirkman's is the most wonderful place in the middle of no where. The service was outstanding, the food delicious, the drink abundant and the animals out of this world. It's an absolute oasis from the modern world. Luxurious without being opulent. I love all the decoration which is understated but comfortable. The guides are knowledgable and fun to spend time... We stayed at Kirkman's camp for 4 days at the end of November/beginning of December 2012. Having traveled all around the U.S. as well as visited central and south america and Europe, this safari easily compared to every other experience we have had. The animals were amazing and the service was top-notch. We went on eight game drives total and... More

We stayed at Kirkman's for 3 nights in mid-January. We have previously done safaris in Kenya and Tanzania and stayed at &Beyond lodges. This was one of the reasons we selected Kirkman's...we had wonderful experiences with their other lodges. We had a really nice time here and enjoyed the friendly, attentive work of the staff. Felicity Smyth, the lodge manager,... More
