This was our 4th visit to Arathusa - and it was even better than previously. The new spa offers excellent treatments, and there is an alternative dining area undercover for when it's too chilly to eat at the boma Game drives are done twice a day - the first leaves at 5.30am so no one stays up late. Sabi Sand... More

I don't think I have ever been so thrilled with a place to stay and experience! Picking a safari lodge is a difficult thing, and after a lot of research, I was stuck on Arathusa- I was not sure why, but I am so glad! Rooms: huge, comfortable. The curtains are good at light blocking, but plenty of safari noises... More

This was our second visit to Arathusa. We had such a wonderful game-viewing experience the first time that we wanted to share it with our adult children the second time. All five of us thoroughly enjoyed the game-viewing and the peaceful setting of the lodge. As with our first visit, we saw many animals and were especially thrilled by the... More

We stayed at five places across South Africa during our two week honeymoon and whilst they were all excellent the experience we had at Arathusa was outstanding. Our room was exceptional and we loved the fact that the animals could pass right in front of our doorstep. We saw the magic 7 in two days which we understand is very... More

The game viewing opportunities were really great compared with other similar properties we have visited over the years. However the standard rooms needed maintenance with bats resident in some, leaking toilets, no shower or bath mats and other more minor problems. The toilet area to our room was a walk through from the changroom area and there was no door... More

We had never been on safari before and our experience at Arathusa was first-rate, leaving us wanting to return. On our first game drive, we saw two mother lions and their two male cubs (about a year old) chowing down on a huge cape buffalo. Later that evening we saw four adult male lions, by spotlight. It was awesome. Over... More

Stayed at Arathusa in September 2011. We stayed in a Deluxe Room - it looks as if these were added on later with little thought to the overall lodge layout. To get to the Deluxe Rooms, you have to walk down a path and cross a couple of electric trip fences (to keep the animals out) - it really feels... More

We were at Arathusa for 4 nights in mid-March. The entire experience was absolutely amazing, and I would have no reservations about recommending this place to all who are thinking of going on a Safari in South Africa. In fact, I really hope I can one day go back, and I wouldn't think twice about returning to Arathusa. The location... More

Arathusa offers really good value for money. Its not as luxurious / beautiful / special as other lodges I have visited in the Sabi Sand & Timbavati, but its also way cheaper than most of those lodges, and offers excellent value for money. The standard bungalows are comfortable and with everything you need, lovely bathroom with bathtub, shower and outdoor... More
