We had a great time at Arathusa and I highly recommend it. The animal action was really amazing. There seemed to be unlimited lions, lion cubs and leopards. The watering hole provides endless hours of entertainment, I can't imagine seeing hippos upclose like that, all day long. We had some of our most exciting animal experiences of our lives at... More

We stayed for three nights in Arathusa as a group of four. Firstly, the lodge itself is extremely luxury, which none of us are very used to (We are more budget travellers). The "standard" lodges were beautiful, huge bathrooms, comfy beds etc. However, the views were the most impressive and breathtaking part of this lodge. The views over the watering... More

My son and I have been to South Africa every other year since 2007, and each time we have stayed at Arathusa. Every time, we have a special adventure, and the rangers and trackers, along with the lodge staff, does amazing work at making the stay memorable. This trip our ranger was Sean, and we again had Rifos as our... More

We had the best time on our first ever Safari - we could not of picked a better place! Arathusa was amazing and everything is so well organised and runs like clockwork. The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. We came in April for 3 nights for our honeymoon (we then went on to Mauritius), we both wished we... More

We selected Arathusa via Tripadvisor for our honeymoon and am happy to say we would highly recommend it to anyone else considering a safari in Kruger. Everything about the experience was superb - the beautiful huts overlooking the hippopotamus pond, the uber hospitable staff who are always smiling and receptive to guests, our very knowledgable guide (Cedric), the mind blowing... Sabi Sands is the private game reserve area you want to be in - by far. Arathusa is uppity, and they definitely try to give you a luxury experience. 2, 3 days max is probably enough unless you are a huge animal person as the game drives do get a tad monotonous. Tip - if you aren't one to 'go'... More

Sabi Sands is a private reserve to the south of the Kruger park. It is fenced off in all directions except where it meets the Kruger. Within the reserve itself there are no fences and animals are free to roam where they will, but most large mammals are somewhat territorial and once they stake their claim they will live out... Just incredible. This review cannot do it justice, but I'll try and throw in some tips. We were headed to South Africa for a wedding and wanted to do a safari. Ultimately, it was agreed that Kruger Park (and game reserves) were really the best way to do it (as opposed to near Cape Town where the wedding was --... More

We really had a superb time here. The lodge is beautifully situated in Sabi Sabi Sands, with a great view on the waterhole (we had room 9, which had a very good on the waterhole). We enjoyed the 2 game drives per day tremendously: already on our first drive we encountered the big five and two giraffes. It was truly... More

We stayed at Arathusa for 3 nights. It came highliy recommended from a friend. Our aim was to see as many animals as possible and we considered ourselves lucky if we could spot even one of the Big 5. However, we did more than that. Within the first two safaris, we had seen the Big 5 and more. Roy and... More
