Arathusa Safari Lodge was an amazing experience from beginning to end. We stayed for three nights and saw incredible wildlife everyday. Our ranger and tracker, Roy and Chris, were incredibly knowledgable and skilled. They made our trip educational, entertaining, and exciting. I would recommend requesting this team if you book with Arathusa. The lodge and restaurant staff were also exceptional.... More

You may get the sense of how overwhelming impressed we we based on the title above, but please allow us an opportunity to expand. 1) The Overall Staff: whether it be the outstanding rangers and trackers (Ryan and DeBeer), the friendly and efficient staff (Charlene, Barbara, Nelson, etc) or the personable and professional General Manager (Vernon), the people at Arathusa... the food, the rooms, the staff are all lovely. the spa isn't that of american standards but it will do in a pinch. the professionalism of the rangers and trackers is what makes this place outstanding. but i must point out that in the middle of the night on our third night a pipe burst in our room. there was... I could go on about how great the food and lodge are but let's face it, the reason we all to do this kind of trip is the experience the animals in their natural setting. Sean our ranger and "Reef" our tracker were the cats meow. Top notch to the nth degree. Sean's knowledge of the flora and fauna is... More

With the help of a specialist local travel agent I planned our 40th wedding anniversary two years ago and after discussions with her went with all her recommendations, what a great start! On arrival ŵe were tired but excited to be at Arathusa, we were greeted by two very welcoming staff in reception, cool face flannels to wipe away the... More

My wife and I visited Arathusa for 4 nights the last week of March. It was incredible. The food was excellent. The staff was great. All of them were happy and smiling the entire time. The game drives were awesome. 2 per day, first one at 5:30am for 3 hours, the 2nd one at 4pm for 3 hours. We saw... More

This isn't quite the luxury lodge the website suggests. The rooms look so bright and airy in the photos but most photos are of the bush-facing luxury rooms. The standard rooms overlooking the waterhole are disappointing. We stayed 3 nights. The individual thatched roofed rooms (ideal for bats!) are large but poorly designed, with a lot of wasted space. The... More

We stayed at Arathusa for 3 nights recently & after some issues with finding the place (very poor/non existent signage) we ended up having a great stay. The location is superb & my wife loved all the animal encounters, I am less keen on the animals so probably more objective about the overall experience. The accommodation, food & service were... At such a price ( 700€ per night ), even if the place is very nice and the luxuary rooms with a private swimmingpool great and totally isolated, there are some key details which are surprisingly missing We would have expected the welcome lunch and the safari breaks to be a little heartier We were also very disappointed as any... When rating this place, I have to take into account where we are in the world, the remoteness, and the purpose of being here. Given the price you could pay for a stay in Sabi Sands Reserve, Arathusa really does represent great value. Its small, well established with loyal staff who really care and know their stuff. From the first... More
