We stayed at Nottens for 2 nights during our first trip to South Africa. The accommodations were beautiful. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and plentiful. We enjoyed the small size of the lodge as well as the communal dinners. The game drives were great. Lots of off road adventures tracking 2 leopards stalking their prey... More

We stayed here for three nights during our tour of southern Africa and it was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip. If you want to get up close and personal with the wildlife then this is definitely the place to go. We even saw lions on our drive from the airport to the camp! As other reviewers have said, nothing... More

We drove through the security gate along the bumpy road not realising until we left that the sand covering the road was essential for tracking the animals. The lodge is exclusive accommodation when we visited there were 17 guests. The individual lodges are exceptional all have a veranda and an outside shower, our lodge 8 had a separate twin bedded room with... We travelled from Kruger to Sabi Sands. Transfers were difficult with the external providers, so Nottens provided the transfers themselves. That is the essence of Nottens. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are great, the food excellent and plentiful. The guides knowledgeable and happy to accommodate any request. Our stay at Nottens will be etched in memory forever. Surely... More

An unfenced camp, with your own luxurious lodge, with views straight out onto the national park. We saw giraffe, buffalo, impala and rhino from our own terrace. The vehicles are superb, with our own driver and spotter for the entire stay. Hot water bottles and rugs for the early morning game drive, and big open fires for the evening in... More

Situated in the middle of the bush we did not know what to expect; but after a long journey from London our arrival was perfect. The Management and staff were wonderful, ready for us and getting us settled quickly to get us out on first safari adventure. Our driver and guide were both extremely knowledgeable giving you that comfortable feeling... More

I had just about decided to leave Sabi Sands out of our safari planning - Tswalu was the main item on my agenda and I wondered would Sabi Sands be too tame after that and anyway with little budget left how could we afford to fit in a really great Sabi Sands lodge? Fortunately our safari organiser (Rose at The... More

Everybody and everything here was just about perfect! Oil-lamp and candle lit rooms and dining area make for a romantic, old-fashioned escape. The food was plentiful and excellent. Staff were attentive, helpful and friendly and made us feel like we were staying at a family home. And we saw LOTS of animals. My favorite memory was taking an outdoor shower... More

I stayed in Nottens Bush Camp for 2 nights at the end of July 2014 after spending 2 nights in Elephant Plains Lodge and 2 nights in Nkorho Bush Lodge. In my opinion Elephant Plains has got the top spot for "best value for money", and Nottens is the best in terms of accommodations and gets overall top spot of... More

Unbelievable. This down to earth, family owned and run, safari camp is the best value in Sabi Sands. It took five years for us to get back to Africa and the tales of Notten's brought another couple with us. It's not 'butler in the bush'; more authentic but a casual luxury not to be dismissed. We stayed at three properties... More
