Having stayed at both Sabi Sabi, Selati Lodge and Exeter River lodge I can endorse the views of many previous submissions. They are both excellent 'camps' with well trained and very friendly staff. Selati focuses on being rustic, whilst retaining its upmarket credentials. Whereas Exeter River Lodge is more lavish and luxurious, but the staff retain warmth and homeliness. On... More

My wife and I recently spent 3 wonderful nights at Exeter Lodge and cannot speak highly enough of it. From the setting on the Sand River, to the game drives, the expert Trackers and Drivers, and the exceptional staff, it was a once in a lifetime experience for us which we’ll treasure forever. On our arrival we were met with... More

We had a wonderful time in Exeter river lodge. The game viewing was superb. We saw the big five and then some. We even got to see the wild dog pups. The service was excellent, and the accommodations were very nice as well. Would definitely recommend this lodge.

Exeter was the second safari camp we visited having spent the 3 previous days at Phinda Mountain Lodge. Jabulani was our next 3 day stop after Exeter. Exeter's main lodge is completely open on one side to a view of the very close Sand river where elephants, Kudus, wart hogs, impalas, bush bucks, vervet monkeys and baboons were seen at... More

Spent 3 nights at Exeter in October. Everything was perfect. The staff is exceptional. They wait on you hand and foot and they all know your name upon arrival. The game rides were terrific and the guide was extremely knowledge about the animals and the environment. He provided wonderful insight. My partner has celiac disease (a gluten allergy) and the... I stayed at this lodge after spending time at Ulusaba Rock Lodge so it was a bit of a let down for me. The room was lovely and spacious with a nice plunge pool and outdoor shower. Staff was friendly and helpful, although the vibe seemed less authentic than my Ulusaba experience. The food was fine, however nothing really outstanding... More

We arrived at Exeter River Lodge after a wonderful four nights at another &Beyond property, Ngala Tented Camp and were expecting a similar high standard with regards to accommodation, service, food and game viewing. We were certainly not disappointed! The lodge is probably one of the oldest, private game reserve properties in the Kruger area and has retained its older... More

The loge, your unit and everything else is first class here especially for being in the bush. The people are all very warm and friendly and can't do enough to make sure that you are having a good time and are comfortable. FOOD, FOOD and more food. You will never be hungry here!!! The game drives are AMAZING. I am... More

My husband and I stayed at the Exeter River lodge over three nights in August of 2014. We had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves, definitely preferred this lodge over Phinda Vlei which we had been at previously. We flew into the Ulusaba airstrip and were transported to the lodge, about a 20 minute drive. Once arriving, and every... More

From the moment that one arrives until the time when one has to reluctantly depart, one is indulged with superb hospitality, a fabulous suite, wonderful game drives and excellent food. The lodge has an inviting common area with a wonderful view of the Sand River where one can see quite a variety of wildlife. I spent four nights here and... More
