Wanna wake up with an elephant in your garden? Than, Elephant Plains is the place to go. Stunning game drives, excellent guides (hi Stephen). Not inexpensive, but worth every penny.

This review is somewhat delayed in the making, but having LOVED going back to Ellie Plains just feel it necessary to write a short note confirming that this really is a wonderful lodge and is incredible value for money. My first visit was in August 2008 and I thought I'd found heaven, in September 2009, I returned, and believe I... More

We stayed 4 night and did 6 games drives...the early morning call was a bit of a shocker at 05.30, but once you'd struggled into your clothes (at least 5 layers recommended :-), drunk a quick cup of coffee, and got on to the jeep, tucked a hotwater bottle on your lap, wrapped the blanket around you...at 06.00 you'd be... My partner and I stayed four nights at Elephant Plains and had the best experience of our trip to South Africa. (It was an amazing trip, so that says a lot.) In researching the game lodges, we settled on Elephant Plains because of the great reviews on TripAdvisor and the reasonable price (for a game lodge). I believe we got... More

We stayed at Elephant Plains for our honeymoon & loved it.! We stayed in a luxury suite which was a large room with a very comfortable king size bed & large bathroom. There was also a long balcony overlooking for watering hole, which we spotted elephants from. Wayne was our guide & he was very informative & pleasant to be... More

We stayed at Elephant Plains in the Manyeleti villa for the first 5 days of our honeymoon. The accommodation is of an extremely high standard - everything felt like it had been carefully thought out and the attention to detail was remarkable. The villas are nicely spaced and felt secluded. We loved spending sunny afternoons on the terrace, and although... More

We stayed at Elephant Plains and it was fantastic. We had a luxury room with huge deck overlooking the Bush. Our twice daily game drives were more than excellent thanks to Louis our Guide and Michael our Tracker were both great and really wanted to make sure you had a good time, as well as being extremely knowledgeable. They asked... More

Amazed to see giraffes, elephants etc all drinking the moment we arrived. Fantastic. The game drives were superb. Saw the big 5 more than once and id be shocked if anyone stayed here and didnt... We stayed at Elephant Plains and had an excellent experience. We had one Rondavel and one luxury room overlooking the water. The Rondavel by the spa had a very nice view and the luxury room had a deck overlooking the water. We watched elephant and cape buffalo visit the watering hole. Our safari trips were excellent - the most game... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in May as part of our honeymoon and had the most amazing time there. It begun with them organising a private meal for us on the first evening (as requested by out travel company) and a complementary bottle of wine in our room. The rondavel where we stayed was pure luxury although it did... More
