My husband and I stayed at Elephant Plains as part or our recent tour of South Africa. We loved it! We had a lovely LARGE cabin (we stayed in the Rhino room) with private deck. The place is family owned and operated and you could definitely tell that from the attention to detail and the service provided. All of the... More

We visited elephant plains as a family in mid July. We stayed in the family villa. Luxury accommodation, top quality food and an unforgettable safari experience. We saw many animals, unfortunately just not rhino of the big five. Highlights would have been seeing a pair of mating leopards, a pride of lions with cubs and a second group of four... More

Food is excellent with great service. Game drives are nice with high quality explanations and ability on spotting all the animals. In twos days (4 game drives),... More

Pool on our private deck with elephants grazing down below. 4 out of the 5 big game animals within 2 hours. Greated by special employees that are very knowledgeable. Most memorible dinning expierence. I am a chef and eating outside with the full moon, fire pit and table for 26 in a horseshoe gave it that special feeling. Wine cellar... More

My brother and I took a trip to Sabi Sands Game Reserve and stayed here at Elephant Plains Lodge. From the moment we flew over the Drakensberg Escarpment (en route from Jo'burg) we knew we'd be in for something special. Upon arriving at Elephant Plains we were greeted by the very pleasant Tersia and were shown to our luxury villas... More

I will pass your compliments to Tersia, Louis, Thomas and Remember! We would love to welcome you back to the lodge, sooner rather than later. In the meantime, keep well. Marlet... More

Within the array of lodges in Sabi this is a very sensible one. The game viewing experience is as good as you can get and although possibly it lacks some of the high-end luxury details of its neighbours (ie Chitwa Chitwa which also doubles the price) everything is comfortable and nice enough for giving you an unforgettable experience of luxury... We just came back from a glorious trip to South Africa- one of our stays was at the Elephant plains lodge. From the moment we got there, with the warm welcome from the friendly staff, we knew we picked a great place for our African Safari. Our ranger, Jonathan and tracker Vusi were the highlight. My family stayed at Elephant Plains for 2 nights in June 2014. Pros: 1. Fantastic game viewing. We saw all the Big 5 except rhino, plus African Wild Dog. 2. Lovely landscaping and many comforts (gym, spa, multiple pools) that other lodges didn't have. Cons: 1. The food wasn't particularly good compared to other places with stayed at. 2. Less... More
