There are so many choices for safari camps but this was indeed exactly what we wanted. A small, intimate camp, comfortable, without ostentation, knowledgeable guides and good food. We got it all. The pick up and return from Joburg airport was great, especially the return on the scenic route. The drives in Kruger and Sabi Sands are very different and... More

For over two years we searched thoroughly in our internet for a perfect and unique holiday to celebrate our Ruby anniversary . This Tydon Safari sprung on to our attention with interest. Originally we had wanted a luxury Safari lodge and Gavin helped us with the bookings to stay at Aruthesa Lodge at Sabi Sand where we enjoyed every minute... More

Everything you read on Tripadvisor is true about this place and the 'excellent' rating is duly deserved. I chose Tydon safari for several reasons: they offer a complimentary pick up/drop off from Jo'burg airport (other lodges charge a lot of money for transfers even from closer airports); it had great reviews; was cheaper than all of the other game lodges... We had the most amazing time at Tydon safari camp. We did the 6 day safari. 6 days was perfect, every day was a new experience. We had time to relax and really take in everything. The staff are fantastic! Gavin, Joy Lyam and the rest of the help do a superb job making you feel at home, comfortable, and... More

Our experience at the Tydon safari camp was wonderful. The tents were comfortable (air conditioning, separate toilet room and power shower!!) and clean. The welcome was warm and hospitable and the knowledge of the rangers impressive. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Eating dinner with the other guests and hosts around the camp fire was lovely and I would certainly... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the camp; the 5 day safari camp was really a great experience, with the unique combination of sabi Sand private reserve and Kruger national Park. So nice to have opportunity to do safaris in these two different environments...! The staff was just perfect: Gavin, Joy and Lyme know a lot about wilderness and do... More

We booked our trip with Tydon based on the 100% excellent reviews they had on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed at all. We had the pleasure of interacting with Gavin, Vangie and their two sons and haven't more warm, geniune and interesting people in all our travels. The two rangers Lyme and Joy were also extremely knowledgeable and fun. The... More

THe tents are amazingly well set up with full comfort, clean and welcoming. Great food for dinner, and overall a very warm... More

As a first time visitor to Africa I had no idea what to expect on a safari tour. I was staying in Johannesburg and after my friend had organised the tour he informed us that Gavin would pick us up and drive us home at the end...a 5 hour journey. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly family orientated... More

Our stay in November 2010 at Krugar with Gavin was excellent. This was my second trip to Krugar, however, the tour provided by Tydon was great. The knowledge of where to view the animals, the food and general hospitality was superb. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone visiting SA.
