I went to Tydon for a 5-day tour with an old friend. She'd picked Tydon after comparing it to similarly priced options and seeing they offered a few more game drives in their schedule. Information from Gavin and the company we booked through reminded us to prepare for winter and wide fluctuations in temperature between midday and riding in an... More

The staff was knowledgable, personable and responsive. Cara was our primary guide and her professional and personal approach was great. She went out of her way to accommodate us . Joel joined the last few days of our trip, and he also was knowledgable about the animals and the country--and he was delightful. A highlight was our walk with Stephen... More

We had a great experience with Tydon. Everyone was very responsive and friendly to guide us into savana. We were collected into Johanesburg O Tambo airport to the safari with a few late. The drive (Jock) drives safetly during the road. The tend at camp has a two comfortable bed, hot and cold airconditioner and a clean bathroom. The food... More

We had a great experience with Tydon from start to finish. Gavin was very responsive to my emails throughout the booking process, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. We were collected as promised from our hotel by the cheerful Kara, and safely delivered to the camp. The drives and walks were all conducted by entertaining, knowledgeable and professional... More

Well organised and excellent value for money. The rangers were so passionate and knowledgeable about the wildlife and tried so hard to ensure we saw as much as possible - a massive thank you to Jared, Kara, Jacques and Bernet for making my first safari so memorable. The ability to go off-road in the private reserve makes such a difference... More

We were referred to Tydon Safari Camp by my cousin when trying to decide where to stay at Kruger Park. Gavin was both responsive and helpful throughout the booking process as we also relished the opportunity to explore both Kruger and Sabi Sand! Kara and Drikus picked us up from our hotel in Johannesburg which was very convenient. They were... More

Visited Tydon Safari camp a couple of years ago with experienced travelers and had such a good experience that I decided to come back with my entire family. Lodging is comfortable, food is varied and excellent (& plentiful), drinks are priced reasonably, and game drives were incredible. I was a little worried about going in April, but did not have... No hesitation giving Tydon 5 stars on all counts: accommodation, hospitality and safari experience. My wife had been apprehensive that camping would be out of her comfort zone, but when she saw our tent she was delighted; air-co, a tiled shower, and all possible comforts. It still has an authentic camp atmosphere though, and we felt very close to the... More

To The Tydon Team We stayed a your camp safari last week, spending 3 wonderful nights in the South African bush. Our boys, Marshall and Kynan had an absolutely fantastic time on the game drives. Kara, thank you for meeting us with your effervescent personality at the airport. Whilst it was not a long drive, it was nice to not... More

This place was absolutely wonderful in every way. The camp-like facilities were not luxurious, but fit the fact that we were on a safari and were very comfortable. The lodge and outside areas were beautiful, the food was the best we had in South Africa with home style cooking, and the guides were knowledgeable, warm and engaging. They were amazing.... More
