We were two families (total of 9 people) staying at Tydon Safari Camp. We were lucky to have the camp to ourselves From the moment we were picked up from our hotel in Johannesburg until the moment they dropped us back, we had a fabulous time. Jared and Bernette were fabulous hosts, guides, cooks and friends and made our first... More

Its hard to write anything that hasn't already been written about this fabulous safari camp. Sure, saw all the big 5 plus many others, the accommodation was excellent, as was the food, however the big winner for me was the staff. Everyone from Gavin and Vangie, through the various guides (in particular Jared) and the kitchen and room staff went... More

Our safari experience at Tydon was superb . The host were warm and welcoming . The food was excellent , especially the potijekos . The trackers were very attentive and proffessional . Everyday was filled with adventure into Sabi Sands . Extremely fortunate to witness a leopard kill on the 1st night of our stay . Got very close to... More

We visited Tydon Safari Camp in April 2014 for 4 days and had an AMAZING time! We were picked up by Gavin at the Outlook Lodge where we enjoyed a lovely meal and night's rest. Our safari experience was amazing, visiting both Sabi Sands and Kruger National Park. Our guide Jared was outstanding, and extremely knowledgeable, and very friendly. We... More

I've been dreaming of a safari since I was a young girl....to say that Tydon Bush Camp exceeded my expectations is an understatement. Our group of six had the Bush Camp to ourselves. What a treat. Jacques was our extraordinary tracker...he was determined that we would see the Big 5, and we did....even if it meant he took us out... More

We were picked up from the excellent Outlook Lodge - see seperate review, by Jared, who was our guide for most of our trips, the long drive from Johannesburg was broken up well with Jared's useful tips and information. The luxury tents were very comfortable, almost boutique luxury, meals were excellent, held... More

The tent was very comfortable and cozy with flushing toilets. The site was beautiful!! There is not one single complaint about the experience we had at Tydon. I will definitely go... More

We cannot give a high enough rating to the people of Tydon. Bernet picked us up at the airport and we spent the week with her and Debbie. We were very spoiled as we shared the camp with only one other family. We came to Tydon after a week in Rome. I did not know what to expect for food;... More

"You come as friends, you leave as family." This is how Bernet, one of the excellent guides at Tydon, described the lodge on our way into camp. When she said it I thought it was just a cheesy tag line, however very quickly my husband and I felt the warmth of Tydon and immediately fell in love with the surroundings,... More
