My friend and I spent 2 nights at Cheetah Plains. To start, Cheryl and Craig were more than welcoming and even helped us out with accommodations when our tour operator got it wrong! We were so appreciative! The lodge and grounds are beautiful, even with its own watering hole and resident hippo, Harry! The chalets are small, but you don't... More

To celebrate my birthday, we decided on Cheetah Plains this time, as Sabi Sands is my favourite destination in SA! We've been to so many lodges in this area & were looking forward to the famous "royal" treatment we experienced before. But, sadly, we had none of that. We were greeted by Damian and Candace and they were very friendly,... More

Hi Mel and Mike, Thank you for taking time to write a review on our special Lodge. I am sad to read some of the comments, as we usually receive quite the opposite especially regarding the staff. My team have had the same member of staff four over five and ten years, and we do regular weekly training sessions with... More

We loved Cheetah Plains. The game drives were amazing. The team thought of every detail, it was winter so for our morning game drives they set hot-water bottles and blankets on our chairs to keep us warm! The food was great and the shared dinner experience was lovely and a great way to meet people. Our two bedroom cottage was... More

Hi Jo, Thank you for taking the time to review our little piece of heaven. We enjoyed having you here with us and really hope we get to see you again! I am glad you enjoyed your water bottle in the morning, we know its not always easy to wake up on a cold winter morning, so we do try... More

Our recent 4 days in Cheetah Plains was just excellent. The lodge is simple, situated on a water hole where you are guaranteed daily sightings of 5 wise old buffalo who are in retirement from the massive herds of 300+ seen on 2 of the days. The rooms are comfortably adequate and my only point to make is an upgrade... More

Good Morning to you and your wonderful family! It was such a pleasure to have you here with us, and i am very pleased to tell you we are taking your advice and making small upgrade changed to the showers! Even without the rain, we are still being blessed with some fantastic sightings, and the other day we were lucky... More

Excellent hotel. Staff very accommodating. Visit with my 12 year old son. The hotel went out of their way to accommodate his quirky eating habits. Will definitely visit again. Big five reserve. The guides were very knowledgeable. Will definitely visit again.

After spending 13 days in South Africa and Zambia we ended our vacation at Cheetah Plains. We wanted to be sure that one of the three areas we experienced safari drives was in the Sabi Sands. We are moderate travelers and researched all the camps within this region and Cheetah Plains checked all of our boxes. Open private reserve, big... More

A simple lodge unlike the over-the-top lodges in the area, but very comfortable rooms with a/c. . Great water hole for viewing. Excellent food home style but the greatest part of the lodge is the staff. All very pleasant and helpful and ready to go out of their way. The best guide in Andrew! We loved it as it has... More

We have taken safaris in a number of locations and in different countries. We wanted to stay on the edge of the Kruger and have the opportunity to see as much big game and cats as we could. Not surprisingly the location of the lodge is a little way of the main road which makes it interesting for a number... More

Hi Michael, Thank you for writing such a special review, we were indeed thoroughly spoiled over the Christmas month! Our family of four stayed at Cheetah Plains as recommended by our travel agent and the experience was beyond my expectations.
