Larry and the gang at Soaring Eagle Lodge are amazing! I've never been fly fishing before so my dad and i made the trip to Soaring Eagle and I'll never go back to a casting rod! Catching browns and rainbows south of the Navajo Dam was an experience that will stay with me for a lifetime. Thanks to our guides... More

We had a great time staying at the lodge. Accommodations were clean, comfortable and right on the river. Relaxing in the comfortable recliners after a long day on the Juan was a highlight. We enjoyed the friendly staff and good food. We also played a little pool in the common recreation room. The fly shop is well appointed and the... More

If you are a fly fisherman/woman, this is your place and your cabin is right on the river. We arrived to a clean comfortable cabin with the river in front of us. We ate a wonderful dinner at "Jakes Place". a few yards from our cabin next to the fly shop. We relaxed with a t v program and listened... More

My husband and I were invited to go with friends to Soaring Eagle Lodge. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and had a wonderful meal that night in their dining room. The next day we left with our guides, Jeremiah and Jeff, and had a day on the San Juan River. The fishing were wonderful and the Guides were the... More

Had a great two days at Soaring Eagle Lodge! Fishing was great and the food was terrific. We had cabin #4 right on the river. We could step out of our cabin and practically cast a fly from out front porch.

The lodge is beautifully located on the rivers edge. Cabins are roomy, well appointed and modestly furnished. They are not really cabins but wood paneled walls like a motel facing the river. It is a only a 100 feet or so to the rivers edge. There are places for you fly rods to hang and a rack for your wading... More

My favorite fishing spot in the Southwest. Larry Johnson has developed a unique experience that keeps bringing you back to fish this legendary river. Incredible food, great accommodations and a staff that makes you feel like family. An on site fly shop and guide service makes this the complete package for the fly fisher.

I've fished all over the world..and I keep coming back to the Soaring Eagle Lodge.. The fishing all year long is the best on the San Juan River.. The cabins are wonderful, clean and neat.. And right on the river.. So you can step out of your cabin and into the river for an early morning or cocktail hour cast..... More

While on a trip to the southwest/usa I stopped at a Farmington,N.M. visitor center and they had information on Soaring Eagle Lodge. I was very surprised that they would rent a cabin to me without reservations and on a saturday afternoon. I stayed for three nights and it was very nice. The hosts were very nice! I would definitely come... More

My husband wanted to visit an old friend who owned the Soaring Eagle Fly Fishing Lodge. I wasn't too keen about staying at a fishing lodge. Much to my surprise the place was wonderful. Our cabin looked out at the San Juan River with a nice Adirondack chair in front. There is a mesa right across the river which adds... More
