Rooms are clean, beds are firm and comfortable, nice flat screen television. Most people are here to fish, and everyone here wants you to have a good time! Peggy's daughter is a guide on Navajo Reservoir, and Chris and Peggy work the river as guides. Their info is very helpful, and I was lucky enough to meet with Chris' dad,... More

My brother-in-law and I selected a "package" stay at Fisheads, i.e. room, guide, boat and all tackle and it was great! The room was large, clean and comfortable, the guides were excellent, and wanted to see us catch fish, which we did. It was a pleasant experience and with the restaurant on premises ,very convenient.

Last week I had the opportunity to fish the San Juan River in Navajo Dam, NM and stayed at the Orvis endorsed lodge, Fisheads. The experience was very positive. We arrived as the sun was setting and were greeted by Chris, the lodge manager, and he was friendly and helpful. We had dinner at their restaurant which was very good... More

Wife & I just returned from another outstanding week at Fisheads San Juan River Lodge.....Been fishing with Chris Taylor for years & I tell you he is as good as there is on the river.....Caught lots of quality fish while floating with Chris and, as usual, he managed to put my wife on the largest fish of the trip (he's... Finally got to fish this amazing river that I have been hearing about for years. Fished with Bubba, what a great guide. He has fished this river for years and it shows with his knowledge of the river. He took us out early "going old school" before the river got crowded and put us on fish. I have never see... More

Fisheads' cottages look fine from the parking lot, but inside, not so much. Bathroom door barely closed and no exhaust fan in bathroom. TV was all snow, little picture. Fisheads provided a guide named Bubba for a full-day float trip. They said it would be an 8-hour trip. Well, Bubba provided only 7-1/2 hours and some of that involved loading... More

The San Juan river is the best place to fly fish. We had an AWSOME time. It doesn't matter if you are a biginner or an expert - you are guaranteed to catch trout at Fish Heads. Our guide, Marcus, was extremely patient and really knew his stuff. The staff at Fish Heads is wonderful and the restaurant is 5... More

We love the restaurant. Spent Thanksgiving there. Had a delicious meal to go with turkey, ham, all the trimmings, and pumpkin pie. We served it on the banks of the San Juan while trout fishing on a warm, sunny day. Try the green chili cheeseburger for lunch. We appreciate the courteous staff.

Had a fabulous time fishing this december with Chris at Fisheads. Nobody on the river with incredible conditions. Between my father and myself we caught at least one hundred fish per day, all while being accompanied by Chris the guide extraordinaire. Would highly recommend a winter trip with Fisheads to anybody.

If you're on your way to Navajo Dam to fish the San Juan River fishery, go straight to Fisheads Lodge. It has the best accommodations, the best guides, the best food and the nicest people. AND....you should go there in the winter months, when the fishing is as good or, more likely, better than it is in the summer but you... More
