We arrived late in the evening so it was dark out. Next morning we were so pleasantly surprised at what a beautiful spot this lodge is located. The San Juan is at your back door. You have your own little patio looking out a beautiful skies and water and mountains. This is definitly a fishing cabin...no frills..though it does have... More

We went on a guys trip to fish the San Juan River. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The Back Cast restaurant was an added bonus the food was all good. The lodge helped us with the guides & just great friendly people involved. A return trip is in the works.

I have stayed at the "other place" at Navajo Dam, and I have to say that Fisheads FAR surpasses its neighbor across the road. The room is clean and nicely appointed, with plenty of room for all the stuff I hauled with me. The WiFi is great, as is the cable TV (I wasn't in the room much, but when... More

While not the best place in Navajo Dam, it certainly is a good 2nd choice. Rooms are clean and within walking distance of the restaurant and fly shop. Book early has there are no many rooms and it is a popular place. May be the best value for the budget conscious.

Perfect fishing lodge. Basic, clean two-man (and two-dog) room with the back (front?) porch overlooking the San Juan. Be advised that the bozo property owner across the river has installed a chain link fence on the Fishead side of the river, creating a bit of a challenge if you'd like to walk the south bank of the San Juan. We stayed at Fishheads, again, this year for our trip to Navajo Lake. We actually stayed in the same room as last year on the San Juan River in one of the Quality Waters suites. We enjoyed our visit and stay, agin. The beds were confortable and the kitchenette quite useful. The bathroom was clean and functioned well. We paid... More

I usually stay at Abe's, but since I was fishing the San Juan with my wife (her first time), I wanted a place, let's say, less "adventuresome". So for about $20 more per day, how does Fisheads compare to Abe's? Roomier, much better bathroom, microwave and mini-fridge (but Abe's has those nostalgic kitchenettes), queen-sized beds (Abe's has doubles). So overall.... More

I fish with Chris Taylor and Fisheads almost every year just after New Years and it is always fabulous. Not only is the fishing great, but I always come home a better fisherman because of Chris' considerable technical and teaching skills. The Fisheads restaurant serves up hearty, beautifully prepared meals running the gamut from a giant breakfast burrito (not even... More

I went with my husband who fishes and I kind of stayed in the room a lot because the weather was a bit too cold for me to go watch him since we were there in December. The rooms are not fancy but are comfortable, just as you would expect for a fishing resort in this area. I took a... More
