As other reviewers have noted, in this part of NM you do not have a lot out there to choose from. Fortunately the Lake Roberts motel is a great place to stay, regardless! The owners clearly love their job and do everything to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We stayed in the little house-cabin rather than a regular room.... More

This motel has a very serene and quaint feel to it. It's owners are friendly and personable. If you're looking for a quiet spot far away in the mountains for relaxation, this would be a good choice. If you're just a tourist passing by, you might not appreciate the remoteness. That being said, that reflects only on the location, not... More

This was a wonderful place to stay the weekend with our family. The kitchenette was just the right size and there was a huge covered picnic area where we could have a family reunion where grills and tables were available for guests. The best part was the owners, so kind and gracious! We'll be back.

You do not have very much choice when it comes to finding lodging in this area, especially if you do not want to pay an arm and a leg. This little motel is charming and the new owners are very enthusiastic, friendly, ready to help, and best of all very well organized. We had room #1 closest to the general... More

Before the large hotel chains, there were owner operated motels and hotels that gave you the sense of being in someone's extended home. I was directed to the Lake Roberts Motel last Fall, when needing to stay in the area. The couple who have purchased the motel and call it home have created a wonderful retreat to stay and explore... After arriving in Lake Roberts after a long, hard day of bicycling along the Continental Divide we arrived in Lake Roberts to find the local store closed and the restaurant another 4 miles down the road (we were completely out of food after 4 days of camping along the trail). We checked in to the Lake Roberts Motel and found... More

I really needed to get away from it all. Having been to the Silver City area 15 years prior and falling in love with the Gila National Forest, I found Lake Roberts Motel on the internet and booked a weeks stay for my husband and myself. What a wonderful stay it was. Bill and Sharon were the best hosts and... More

But that isn't really a big issue if you aren't in a hurry. It was well past there, but the drive is beautiful. That said, getting to and from Mimbres is not for the faint-hearted. To put it bluntly, I was terrified going through the pass over the mountain roads. My boyfriend had no problem with it, but he has... More

Don't be fooled by the plain exterior; this is a classy place, very clean and convenient. They even gave us a sheet to cover the couch in our room so our dogs could sleep on it. Great location for Gila Wilderness roaming, one of our favorite hiking areas.
