We stayed here for one night on a sightseeing trip to historic Lincoln. The hotel closes for the winter and we were there on the last night before closing, and we were the only guests (the inn has five rooms). The owners, Victor and Kathy, are very friendly and made us feel welcome. They are dog friendly, and their little... more

We have been guests at the Wortley Hotel in Lincoln, NM on many occasions in the last 10 years . . . . we are history buffs, impressed with the town and nearby sites , but particularly the feel of staying in this wonderful hotel . . . . we never tire of the beauty and quiet surroundings! The hotel... more

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful long weekend with a clean room, great breakfasts, and all of the beautiful fall colors the mountains could offer. One of the most incredible attributes of the Wortley is the beautiful mornings and evening in the rocking chairs on the porch. Simple mountain living - the perfect get away from the hustle and... more

Our stay at the Wortley Hotel in Lincoln, NM was exactly what we had hoped for - a quiet getaway in cool, beautiful surroundings with friendly local people and gourmet food. Memorable experiences included morning coffee in a rocking chair on the front porch, petting the resident dog, Rascal, and having dinner in a porched area watching hummingbirds at the... more

We didn't stay at the hotel, however we had lunch in the dining room. The lunch we had was neither bad nor spectacular. We noticed that the others who were eating there seemed to be locals as they knew the staff. It was about the only place in town to eat so it wasn't as if we had a choice.... more

When we went to check in, there was not a sole around. We sat on the front porch for an hour and finally someone showed up. When we got to our "room" if you want to call it that, the floor was covered with a quarter inch or dust and grit. Then we discovered there was no hot water. That... more

I needed to do business with David Hall and Alic Seely Warder so my friend and I traveled from Cuba, NM for a nice get-a-way and road trip to a part of the state neither of us were familiar with. Alice had recommended the Wortley Hotel but we did not make prior reservations because we wanted to leave our options... more

We came to the wortley hotel without reservation, late on a sunday. We had the adress from old west history fans and hope to sleep in this original Pat garrett's home. As everything was closed around, the very kind hosts cooked a meal especially for us. We really enjoyed the historic rooms and the quiet charming city around. more

We were only at the Wortley for one night during a week long driving tour of famous old west sites, but it was the best night of the entire trip. Cathy & Vic were fantastic hosts, & our room was very authentic, like a step back in time. We spent a relaxing evening rocking on the porch & talking about... more

We had a wonderful experience in August, 2008, at this historical hotel which was in use during the 1870’s, and figured in the events of the Lincoln County War. The building has been entirely rebuilt to the original floorplan, and refurbished in period style. The rooms are relatively small, but clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are modern, but small. There... more
