My Husband and I went and visited our favorite Historic Hotel this weekend. We were so disappointed to what the new owners have done to this Grand Ole Lady. Gone was the historic photos and pieces of furniture (not all furniture) in the lobby replaced by dark and sinister paintings and cheap mirrors and crosses. Gone was the feeling of... More

We ended up here by accident (needed a spot to land) and ended up loving it.The hotel is charming. The food is wonderful, and the staff could not be nicer. If you want to visit northern New Mexico, this is the place. It's perfectly charming, affordable, and an all around great experience. Taos, Santa Fe, the mountains, and the little... More

It's a historic property inherent with issues of historic properties. Plaza Hotel was a great find. We got the Bridal Room because it seemed to be their best room. Overall we enjoyed the stay, the room was comfortably although awkwardly adorned. For example this suite had two rooms; bedroom and small sitting room. My issue is that the sitting room... More

We've stayed here a couple of times on our way to ski in New Mexico. We love the old fashioned atmosphere -- really a nice change of pace from DFW! We stayed here one year ago, Dec. 2013. I thought the food in the hotel restaurant was better last time (?) -- the enchiladas at dinner were not very good... More

My husband and I were interested in a weekend getaway for the holiday weekend and chose The Plaza Hotel in historic Las Vegas, NM. The front desk staff was very helpful and the room accomodations were lovely! If you go, a king suite facing the plaza is a must. It's close to cute shops and has a tasty restaurant on... More

I knew I wanted to stay here as soon as I read it's history. So I called and was fortunate to get Sean on the phone. He was very helpful and considerate so I knew I was on to something. Sure enough the entire staff, all under 25, met the same standard. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable and... More

We stayed here on our way to Colorado around Thanksgiving time at the recommendation of a friend. The historic hotel is something to see with its wide stairways, curved banisters, tall windows, old doors, decor and wide sinks. It's really like a step into the past, which we enjoyed. We've also stayed at La Posada in Winslow and this hotel... More

First let me say, the renovation work is great and I really appreciate how they are striving to keep it authentic. The hotel is charming and the young staff is enthusiastic. Internet service and television service was good and the room was clean...... I arrived around 6:00 in the evening and checked in, then went down to the bar for... More

The owners of the wonderful La Posada in Winslow are at work renovating yet another Harvey House hotel, which faces a pleasant plaza in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Like Winslow, Las Vegas has seen better days, and one hopes the renovated Plaza Hotel will help to invigorate this historic town. We had an excellent lunch in the dining room and... More

It is good news that the Plaza Hotel will be renovated and brought up to its former glory, as the owners did with the wonderful La Posada in Winslow, AZ. Perhaps the railway hotel in Las Vegas will get there first! But there is a long way to go yet. Much of the hotel is still under renovation. We stopped... More
