We spent the night in the El Fidel and it was wonderful! We paid $63.00 which included tax. The room was clean, the shower had great pressure and was hot. I admit the bed was a tad lumpy but overall not bad.

I made it as far as Las Vegas New Mexico in my detour to Denver due to a snowstorm, and decided to stop at the El Fidel to see if they had a room, which they did. It's a lovely, quaint, old hotel, and the restaurant is exceptionally good. VERY good value for money. I'm enjoying the stay, and will... More

I live in the Elfidel hotel in Las Vegas New Mexico. A quaint, charming place to live or just spend a few days. Definitely not a cookie-cutter chain hotel. One thing to be aware of: on some travel sites the Plaza hotel in Las Vegas New Mexico is being reviewed but the photo shown is the Elfidel hotel in Las... More

We stayed 2 nights in Sept. 2014. Room was reasonably priced, clean & comfortable. Beautiful, historic lobby with a friendly talking amazon parrot. Location is excellent, in center of town. Staff was friendly & helpful. I would stay there again.

We had planned to stay with friends in Las Vegas, New Mexico but that fell through so they kindly offered to book us a hotel. As it turned out, the weekend of the 18, 19 and 20th of October was homecoming weekend of the local college so everything in town was booked. We managed to get rooms at the Historic... More

I stayed here in October and had no complaints. First of all, it was forty dollars. In light of this I had no expectations and just vague ideas of people having affairs there and so forth. However the reality is that this hotel was a lot of fun. NO, the rooms are not fantastic and it does take time for... More

We stayed at the El Fidel in Feb 2012. We were falsely accused of stealing a blanket, and the owner charged my credit card a few days after we departed. When I called to see what the charge was for....the clerk advised a blanket was missing and we were charged for it. When I told her there must be some... More

We enjoy staying in historic hotels. On a weekend when we were touring Fred Harvyey's Montezuma Castle, we decided to try this hotel near the old Santa Fe train station. It was a good choice--not fancy, but clean, quiet and a very reasonable rate. The lobby is charming and would be a good place to relax with a book. El... More
