We stayed here in November, 2013, and really enjoyed it. Heidi, the owner, was extremely friendly. She told us the best spots to go hiking, soaking in the hot springs, and was very hospitable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a microwave and small refrigerator in our room. We went to Amanda's Grocery Store and the Ridgeback Cafe,... More

Closure to campgrounds and wet weather brought me to the lodge. The owners are totally awesome. The rooms are very clean nicely decorated each to a theme no internet nor ac. This is a good thing. It's cool if not cold at night and the fresh mountain air is wonderful No cell phone or Internet means just sit back relax... More

Heidi and Dan the new owners have worked hard to make this place a nice place to stay. They have painted the exterior, interiors, replaced the roof and many more items. It’s a quaint mountain motel nothing fancy, but clean, quiet, and a pleasant place to stay. It has no AC but its not needed. The altitude was over 7000... More

You think it isn't going to be because it is a "strip" motel where you figure you will hear every word from the rooms next to yours. WRONG! I was there with a BUNCH of highway road workers who enjoyed themselves outside until a decent hour and then were not heard from again. I didn't even hear them leaving for... More

We scheduled a tour of the Valles Caldera in May, and rather than drive up early the same day we reserved a room at the lodge for the Friday night before the tour. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home. The atmosphere is laid-back. The rooms are not elegant, but are functional and clean.... More

The people and the lodge are nice, but I was disappointed this was 10 miles from Jemez, making the drive about 20-30 minutes. The lodge is really geared for people that are with family. the room with the kitchen was disappointing, it only had a microwave and refrigerator and the dishes had no knives. there was a picnic table in... We stayed the weekend of the July 20 with our 2 boys (14 and 7 years old). Location is really great. The new owners are soooo friendly and accomodating. What I loved was that there were 2 doors in the room. The back door led to a back area that had grills, picnic tables, a swing, deck chairs. Beyond that... More

I stayed at La Cueva the evenings of June 25 & 26 2013 with a group of 15 travelers. The new owners, Heidi and Dan had just bought La Cueva the previous day so we didn't know what to expect! But, everything was excellent. Heidi and Dan couldn't have been nicer and took good care of us. The lodge is... More

This is the kind of place we love to stay! Very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring the area- Jemez Falls, Soda Dam, Jemez Springs Bath House, etc. We sat out on the front porch when a shower sprung up at sundown, the rain smelled so good and our room was nice and warm when we went...
