We stayed one night here and our choice was made based on the price and them accepting pets. The place is obviously old and not much to look at. The man who checked us in wasn't very friendly and gave us some grief about my dog even though their sign out front says they accept pets and we made it... More

I had a really good night in this motel. Whilst driving route 66 we thought this place looked the best independent in town. The welcome was ok, they were certainly polite but not over friendly. The room is basic but is was clean and beds were very comfortable. The air conditioner wasn't too noisy and wifi was good. The place... More

I travel quite a lot and I stayed here because I had to unload many items out of my vehicle and I wanted my room literally next to the car. Because I need the Internet I asked if the wifi worked well and if it was reliable. The owner seemed nice when I checked in (I believe he is from... More

sometimes i get a great value under $45 in a little old route 66 historic motel. a young family owns this place and is doing a good job rehabing it. the parking lot is in repaving progress. no frills, great tv channel selections, strong wifi. the bed was comfy for the two of us, and we slept well. bathroom very... The couple running this motel are not friendly and communicate in a curt almost rude manner. It is a rundown place with a stone garden in the forecourt and the motel sign has missing letters! But the price is cheap and the room was comfortable if you don't have high expectations. The room had a fridge and microwave if you... More

We stopped here for one night. It's a nice, clean motel, although the owners do take away from the "nostalgic Route 66" experience. It was very cheap and adequate. Don't expect breakfast or coffee in your room though.

If you are looking for nostalgia for Route 66 in it's glory in the fifties this is the place for you. They haven't updated it since then. I would like to call it quaint, cozy or rustic but it's actually run down and neglected. It is being run by foreign investors so don't expect any improvement. Food left in the... More

The lights were a bit dark for the room but other than that, everything was cozy. I was exhausted from traveling pregnant and with my 5 year old. The front desk personnel were friendly and took care of us fast. The bed was perfect, the heater worked great and the bathroom was a good size. It even had a good... More

The El Capitan was basic, clean and adequate. That is all we needed. The four stars are not that it was deluxe but that it met our criteria in the basic categories at a very reasonable price. It is somewhat buffered from the inescapable train noise that is part of Gallup's character. There was a landline phone and a TV,... More

During our coast to coast roadtrip this motel was the WORST stay. That Indian woman in pyjamas whom we woke up in 2 am checked us in. She was rude and unprofessional (sorry we disturbed her. if she wouldn't wake up after our buzzing - we could have stay somewhere else). The room was dirty - the blankets, carpet and... More
