I stayed here several years ago with a relative. The accommodations were very nice and it was a very interesting home in a unique setting. However, we found the owners to be ungracious and the husband was more than borderline rude He did not speak to us unless we asked him something and then barely and the wife was not... More

We had stayed here before and things have changed. The complimentary breakfast is no longer made to order. The property is looking a little tired. Our room had a smokers smell in it (non smoking room.) The furnace in our adjoining room did not work. We did enjoy our showers because of the near pressure washer like water pressure.

This is our second stay at the Dobson House, well worth the four mile drive in from 64, over well maintained dirt roads. To begin, the sparse housing along the road in are all different, some geometric, other organic wonders. When you first approach the Dobson House it looks much like a landed UFO. Once inside, this amazing, earth friendly,... More

The Dobsons have built this inn in a lovely setting about 20 minutes drive down a well graded, passenger car friendoy dirt road about 10 miles from Taos town. At the inn you will find simplicity and spareness of ammenities in keeping with the property. Breakfast will be served at the time you request by the Dobsons, but you might... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Dobson House, not just because the hospitality and breakfast were wonderful, but more because we felt welcome, warm, and well grounded in this unique, hand built accommodation. Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. It's a bit of a drive from Taos, not for the distance, but... More

My husband and I wanted to experience an Earthship, and we are so glad we chose to stay at the Dobson house for our two-night trip to Taos. John and Joan are wonderful hosts and made sure our stay was very comfortable. We were greeted each morning with piping hot coffee and a delicious and filling (but light) breakfast that... More

I loved my 2 night stay at Dobson House from Saturday, July 24 to Monday, July 26, 2010. Dobson House is a modified Earthship that is home for John and Joan Dobson and their friendly dog, Tug. Built by them, too. It took them 3 years! Earthships make heavy use of recycled materials in their construction. Their outer walls have... More

The Dobson House is amazing. I've never stayed in a more comfortable enriching place in my life, and that includes my very comfy home! Our hosts, Joan and John were kind and generous, sharing loads of details about the construction and upkeep of this earth friendly treasure. We even got wine and snacks when we arrived, something I've never experienced... More

The Dobson House is located about 20 minutes off of the main road... the experience is worth the 'extra mile' to get to it. Interesting hosts - - they've been 'on top of the hill' for many years and are filled with enjoyable tales of the local area. You'll hear how they began their B&B adventure and wonder at their... My girlfriend and I made a web-based reservation request and subsequently confirmed the dates with John and Joan Dobson over email and telephone. On the evening of our arrival, we decided to call the Dobsons from Santa Fe as a courtesy to update them on our status, and they insisted that we should have arrived 2 days before. Despite that...
