We spent around $200 for this room. We wanted the room to be part of our experience. A view of the Cloudcroft countryside would make most rooms special. It was an experience, but not in the way we intended. When we made the reservations by phone, we were asked if upstairs was o.k. We said yes. When we arrived, we were escorted to our room. The room did not have a window - not one. I'm a bit claustrophobic and it was a difficult night. My teenage daughters bumped their heads on the low vaulted ceiling. The room was cold. It did not have a fresh feel at all. The matresses just sat on the floor. The switch for the light for the room was in the hallway. The one light in the room was a fluorescent strip light. When we returned home, I asked the manager for a refund of half for not being told the room was windowless via e-mail. The manager politely asked the owner but the owner responded no. It was a fairly upsetting experience. more
