when we checked in on jan 17, 2016 at first glance the antiques and super comfortable beds seemed great. within a minute or two though many problems made themselves apparent. there was a thick coat of dust on everything. on one dresser there was a lap top pad covered with a sticky, spilled substance along with just plain crud on... We apologize if you didn't have a good experience. But we should clarify a few things. One the housekeeper who forgot the toilet paper is no longer working for us, so that problem was resolved. We do not have phones in the rooms, the antique phones are for decoration not for use obviously. The rooms are dusted daily as given... More

The place has more of a boarding house feel than a hotel. The rooms were cozy, bedding was clean, and the bed was comfortable. A claw foot tub while pretty, are over rated if your not going to take a bath or are not used to using one. The shower curtains that enclose the tub made for a closterphobic experience.... More

We had no windows in our room, the town mostly closes down around 5pm which is fine but also not having a window or balcony or anything made us feel a bit claustrophobic in our room all evening. It was clean and nice though. Cute rustic feel. Claw foot tub, TV, coffee maker.

This place really has such potential. The room we stayed in has charm appeal. They've taken time to collect vintage items like claw tubs, old stoves, lovely quilts, lamps, and bureaus. The bed. Oh, the bed. My husband, who is a veteran and has slept in all kinds of places woke up this morning and said, "Well, at least we... More

I was a little apprehensive after reading a few reviews and due to typically staying in chain hotels, but have to say that I really enjoyed my stay at the Cloudcroft Hotel! I was traveling with kids who thoroughly enjoyed the antique touches in the room. The hotel is above the gift shop. It is in the perfect location. There... More

We booked a room with two queen beds and the room was large, clean and cute with quilts on the beds, an old stove, old fashioned bath tub, etc. The main problem with the room is there were no windows. It was stuffy and dark. The three ceiling fans did little to help and the a/c was very loud. When we... More

My husband and I love Tripadvisor as it has helped us choose hotels around the world and in New Mexico. Unfortunately the Cloudcroft Hotel was a dismal experience for us. The Cloudcroft Hotel's website indicated the hotel was 'pet-friendly.' However when we confirmed our reservation and mentioned we were bringing our dog, we were told we could not stay at... More

We stayed at the hotel for one night in July. It is in a great location, and the room was just fine, until we tried to go to sleep. The mattresses were awful, very uncomfortable and LOUD. I still haven't figured out what was so loud. Any time one of us would move (which was frequent because of the uncomfortable... More

My wife and I spent one night in June at this great place. The rooms are definitely not your "regular" hotel, but in a good way. Felt very much like a western town an in line with cloudcroft as a destination. We didn't really met the staff since we arrived later, but they had prepared a great welcome and a... More

No window, plastic sheets, boulders for pillows, bathroom door squeaks loudly and there's no handle on the outside of the bathroom door, so if you close the door you have to stick your fingers in the door jam to open it. Lovely and cool outside, but need to run DC-10 sounding ac inside, and I think that's it!!!
