We were in Chimayo for a wedding, and stayed two peaceful, idyllic nights at Casa Escondida. The setting is beautiful, bird feeders all around, with tons of hummingbirds. The livingroom is like home with a library, use of computer. Our room was as charming as can be. The owner and staff couldn't have been more welcoming. The breakfasts are scrumptious!... More

My wife and I were headed up north to the Colorado Rockies from Albuquerque because she likes to collect mushrooms (no, not THAT kind!), and I decided we'd stay in Chimayo because we were getting a late start. It was my first stay at Casa Escondida, and we loved the place. It was quiet and cute. We relaxed on the... More

We stayed for three nights for a wedding. Chimayo is not exactly an urban center and Casa Escondida is well off a main road so it is quiet and charming. The porch is a lovely place to watch birds at the feeders (including the incredibly aggressive hummingbirds!) and the breakfasts were superb!

We are glad that you had a good stay and enjoyed New Mexico (and the wedding). Yes, since our driveway is 1/4 mile long, our guests find Casa Escondida B&B to be quiet and relaxing, yet still provides easy access to lots of great daytrip destinations. Thank you for your review. We hope to see you again soon! More

The rooms at Casa Escondida are really cute. We stayed in the Uno Garden Room, which is one of the smaller rooms, but the layout and cleanliness made if feel much larger. The breakfasts are awesome; the owner makes them all herself, first morning we had blueberry lemon curd pancakes, and on the second broccoli quiche. While the location is... More

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay (I love the lemon / blueberry pancakes too). We really do offer a great location for visiting the majority of the most popular destinations in northern New Mexico (Santa Fe, Taos, Bandelier National Monument, hot springs, Pueblos, etc) and we also provide a very "authentic" New Mexico experience. We hope to... More

I have stayed at Casa Escondida many times -- with my husband until he died, since then with a young friend who also loves the opera. When we leave the opera all the cars go south to Santa Fe; we have a little farther to go but on an open road to a quiet end-of-the-country-road retreat. Belinda has a lovely... More

We love seeing you guys each year and we are glad that you enjoy your stay! Good news....they are currently laying new fiber-optic cable in our area. Within just a couple of months, we will be able to offer even faster internet service and better quality wi-fi. We will see you next opera season! More

We had a very nice stay at Casa Escondida this past July. Owner and staff are all very nice and accommodating. The rooms have everything one needs, beds are very comfortable and the complex is nice and quiet. We even had use of some kitchen amenities and use of refrigerator. The breakfasts were very tasty and plenty of food. I... More

I'm convinced every Tom, Dick and Harry in the Sante Fe to Taos area has a 'bed and breakfast.' Many are just rooms in their homes they are trying to make a little off of. This is a genuine BnB that has been around a long time. The current owner has had it 13 years or so. I have to... More

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are glad that you appreciated the privacy of our Casita (little guest house). You are correct. The Casita does not offer air conditioning. We go out of our way to make sure that the multiple room photos and the room descriptions, which are on our website,... More

We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and other birds (a great variety) on the back patio. We were also privileged to meet the other guests, who were from Poland, the Netherlands, Texas, and Massachusetts. A great mix which provided great conversation at breakfast. Our breakfast was excellent, and the staff and owner very accommodating. We would definitely recommend Casa Escondida!

We recently had the pleasure of staying a few nights at this lovely B&B and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the home and setting as well as hospitality of the staff. From sitting on the back patio watching the numerous hummingbirds at their feeders to enjoying freshly cooked delicious breakfasts each morning. We're so pleased we chose the Vista Room... More

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in the Vista Room. We recently rebuilt that big, private deck on the Vista Room and put part of the deck under-roof. Now you can enjoy the outdoors, even during the summer rains! It is just a wonderful place to sit and sip your morning coffee and look at the mountains. We... More

The mornings were very peaceful, watching the hummingbirds and enjoying the quiet. Evening in the hot tub was very relaxing. The breakfast was sensational and they accommodated our special dietary needs. Staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The room did not have A/C which we would have preferred instead of fans.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. The next time you stay with us, reserve the Vista Room or the Kiva Room. Both of these rooms have AC. Our ground level rooms stay cooler but they have ceiling fans only. We hope to see you again soon! More
