My husband and I were at the Vista del Rio Lodge in Chama, NM this week to spend our 19th wedding anniversary while on the road. I had already reviewed this lodge a couple of years ago, as we have been staying there since 1999, and never been disappointed. This visit was different, however. I happened to mention that we... there is no ac, we had a terrible time. website said evap cooling, nope! I recommend not staying there. Ceiling doesnt stir up the air, its high speed is my low speed at my home. And you have 48 hrs before your arrival to cancel, which it is too late when you arrive and find out in jul, there is... More

Hi CT: We are so sorry that issues during your recent stay. We would have preferred that you let us address these issues during your stay. We have had unseasonably warm weather, and have certainly allowed guests who were not comfortable with no AC to check out with no penalty. The evaporative coolers we use are portable, and we certainly... More

What a wonderful, hospitable staff welcomed our son's memorial project this weekend! Kim and Alwina and staff made sure that our volunteers were well taken care of as we reserved the entire hotel. We set up headquarters in the lovely backside of the hotel facing the Chama River. The rooms were clean, beds were comfty and the location was perfect!... More

Room was spotless. Staff/owner was great. Handicapped room is huge. Loved staying on the back side away from the highway and had a nice view of creek, geese, etc. Had the motel mostly to ourselves. No breakfast available. Had a little trouble getting the TV to work but the staff came down and got it going.

Great, clean and quiet room with comfortable beds. Staff extremely friendly and thoughtful. We forgot a phone charger and she called to inform us so we could swing by to pick it up. Will definitely be back. Thanks

This was a very nice place to stay in the small town of Chama NM. It is located about a mile from Chama Railroad. My bedroom was located at the rear of the building so nice and quiet after 22:00 pm. The room was a good size, well equiped and clean. The reception area was very fine and the staff... More

There are not many places in this small town and for the most part this is better than most. The rooms on the back are the ones to get. I have been there many times for the train trip and more often than not the hot tub does not work, you might want to leave that swim suit. You will... More

We are looking forward to receiving your letter, so we can resolve your issue. For clarification, we are waiting on the state EID to permit the hot tub. It has been a long, frustrating process, as we complied with the new regulations, and now the Federal government has added another layer of compliance that we are dealing with. And unfortunately,... Overall, this was a very nice place to stay in Chama. The rooms were bright & cherry, nicely appointed and clean. Bed was comfortable and staff were very friendly & helpful. Towels were a bin thin, though. Unfortunately, during our stay, a modem was out of service and so could not get WiFi in our room. Had to go sit... More

I stayed here 2 days as part of a tour package. The rooms are nice and seem new. The decor is a rustic style and was nice. The desk clerk was helpful with dining recommendations and made sure everything was right. The room was clean and fresh. There were plenty of plugs for charging things. The only negative was the... My family and I stayed in this hotel we all enjoyed our stay very much. This was a great hotel, the rooms were super clean, the grounds were perfectly taken care of and the customer service was excellent. The hotel itself is just as cute as can be with the beautiful flowers, the chilie ristras, the adorable bear wood carving... More
