Stayed for 3 nights to ride the train and see the area. The room was huge and the service was excellent. It wasn't a palace, but, it was everything we needed including being dog friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The fall colors in New Mexico were stunning although Colorado's fall colors were already gone. We were in Chama... More

We stayed here 2 nights to ride the train. Even though it is not the newest (or oldest) motel in Chama we felt it was a good value and well maintained for a tourist destination. The room was clean, furniture and bedding in good condition, AC worked well and everything in the bath room worked. The motel was is far... More

When planning for our overnight stay in Chama in order to ride the Cumbre and Toltec steam train, our hotel options seemed rather limited. After looking and looking, and looking some more at the limited options available, I chose to make reservations at the Branding Iron Motel. It turned out to be a good selection. I needed a room with... More

This was our first trip to Chama Days. We were a little late on reservations for a place and this was the only one available... GEE I wonder why? Well here it is in a nutshell, this place runs your credit card 4 days before you arrive for the full amount??? unheard of! why would you pay for services not... More

I stayed here 2 nights. The room was spacious and very clean, with standard motel equipment, but no fridge. The front desk staff where friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable. I would stay here again.

The room was clean and comfortable. No frills for sure, but the owners and staff were pleasant and we had a nice stay. We would stay here again.

We recently did an overnight here before taking the Cumbres & Toltec railroad. The couple at the front desk were extremely nice and helpful. We arrived early so they had a room cleaned immediately for us. On their recommendation we had lunch at Sonny's cafe, which we found to be very good and went back for breakfast the next morning.... The outside of the motel is clean and fresh. The rooms, we rented 3 for the family were left in the 1970's. The rooms carpets were badly worn, torn(covered with a throw rug) dirty and the room smelled badly. 2 of the power plugs in the room did not work. This was a handicap room, but the shower only had... This is the place you wan to stay if you're interested in taking the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The rooms are not modern, but are exceptionally clean, with everything in working order. The drive to the railroad is literally a half mile. The location, although named "and restaurant," doesn't have one... More
