I was given two nights stay and a trip on the Cumbres Toltec Railroad for my birthday. What a great escape from the city. The folks at the Lodge were so friendly and helpful. I will stay there again. It made me reminisce of some of the places I stayed at as a kid with my family on our family... More

Nice little log cabin type rooms. Adequate but not fancy. There's a little playground for kids. A little walk to the small creek (river?). Not much of a breakfast, we went to eat in Chama instead. We would stay again.

We stayed in one of the Cabins and it was clean and conformable. However, the rest of the site left a lot to be desired. The laundry facilities were broken, the continental breakfast consisted of toast and juice. Overall an okay place to stay

Cabin stated one bedroom, loft and living area with pull out. The loft is a platform loft - cannot even kneel without bending our heads. During the night we heard rodents on the outside and were fearful of them getting in. During the day, notice copious rodent droppings on the outside below from where the sound came from. Blankets were... More

The rooms are clean, with microwaves, fridge, coffee maker -- enough for me to bring food from home and skip the fast food and mediocre restaurants in Chama without paying more for a cabin/kitchenette. The lodge is by the river on a nice property, and the owners are nice. The drawback is the bed -- must be an old mattress... More

Chama is beautiful. River Bend lodge is well kept, reasonable, rustic, and quiet. Good family business that is a good place for families. Great access to river. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Surprising amenities for such a simple place. Was here on business, but will be bringing the family back for leisure.

I've stayed both at Chama River Bend Lodge and the property next door. Quite honestly, they are both very similar properties... your basic accommodations with a wonderfully attentive and friendly staff. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, free wifi, hot showers, mini-fridge, and the prices are within a few dollars of each other. This unit has the advantage of having a microwave... More

WE arrived at Chama in heavy snow only to be told at our pre-booked motel that they could not provide a room. I went nearby to River Bend Lodge and got fixed up. The people were the most charming and helpful you could have imagined. The weather was dire, but I expect they are just as nice when conditions are... More

First I will say that the staff at this motel “lodge” were very nice, BUT.... This is a 1960s style non-renovated, except for new carpet. Our room, number 113, had an old toilet, a tiny shower that has no light and will either scald you or freeze you intermittently without notice. The room was smelly and dusty. There were no... More
