Raining heavily, getting dark not much free...meaning no vacancy signs...this one was free. It was exactly what it is, a lodge to rest your head and get dry. Had a small kitchen, they found a wine bottle opener for us,a no the price was right. We just laughed it was just somehow so funny. Just wishing the service was a... More

Nice place to stay right on the river. Very nice cabins. Owners were very accomodating. It was very quiet even though its right off the highway. Very close to town with a lot of restaurants and not far from the train.

Service was not intrusive. We arrived in a snowstorm and the Lodge was breathtaking. "Substantial" is the word to describe the renovations. Cheers! Please visit soon, and ask for cabin #7. There is a nice river and really cool taxidermy.

Great little cabin right on the river. Cabin was small and very basic, but it was spotlessly clean. And the price cannot be beat. Friendly owners and they left the keys in the door for us due to late arrival. We would definitely stay here again.

Very clean cabin! Nice that it was right on the river which was great for walking along. We had our young, little dog w/us (there was an extra charge of 10$ a night - that wasn't listed on their website, large dogs are 20$ a night). Very dog friendly in that they allowed us to leave him in his crate... More

My husband and I spent the night at the Spruce Inn in Chama, NM. The cabin was clean but small -- the bed was small (a double bed) and the bathroom and shower was small. No air conditioning but did have a window fan. I liked how peaceful it was there. The price was $60.00 which is pretty cheap. Although... More

We had a lovely stay at Spruce Lodge. We had cabin #9 and it was the perfect size for our family of 8. We were allowed to bring an inflatable matress and there was enough room for it. The cabin was clean and right next to the river. It was pretty cool the night we stayed and were able to... More

What a great little find. I stayed there in August. I had a single cabin that backed up to the Rio Chama. With the window open, I could listen to the river running. The cabin was so comfortable and cozy! A very comfortable queen bed, a very updated and CLEAN bathroom, and a nice covered front porch that came in... More

Do not expect luxury. The cabins are basic, retro, selection of cooking utensils probably varies from cabin to cabin, as does the quality of the beds. We loved it, but were prepared with kitchen items we brought along. Staff is friendly and housekeeping thorough. Bring matches to light the stove. No air conditioning, used the fan which was in the... More

Try and make sure you get a lodge close to the river, would be my advice if you intend to stay here. Our cabin was closer to the road and therefore we did not see the river until the next morning, and it seems as if you're in the backyard of the people who have the cabins next to the... More
