We go every year. As far as day trips there are tons of them but we hardly leave Corkin's property. Husband fishes and I walk. It is like being on a honeymoon after 34 years of marriage. No kids for us. My children are always asking if I'll take a grand and our answer always is "well maybe when were... More

Clean Cabins, that already have things you'll need like clean bedding, cookware,BBQ grill, paper towels ect. They have a stocked lake( that has a beautiful view by the way) river near by for even more fishing. Playground, pool and game-room helps make this mountain retreat even more amazing. Our family takes advantage of the free board game rentals in the... More

We have gone to Corkins Lodge for many years. We booked a cabin again this year on line back in March. According to the web page it rented for 145 a night.Out cabin was the knothole. When we received our confirmation the rate had gone up to 290 per night. We were not informed of the rate increase at the... More

Many people have been coming to Corkins Lodge for decades. After visiting the rustic mountain retreat outside of Chama, New Mexico, I can see why. The scenery is spectacular, the wildlife is abundant and the cabins are comfortable and cozy. The folks at Corkins Lodge are so accustomed to the returning regulars, however, that they don't give the uninitiated traveler... More

This place is a hidden gem in the mountains of Northern NM. Me & my extended family have been going here for over 35 years. My family in ABQ, NM go here once or twice every year. We're going back in September of this year. I'm very excited about that trip because I'll be starting a new tradition with my... More

My family and I stayed here, in the Penasco cabin, for 2 nights during November 2012. It was a magical experience. Straight out of a Thomas Kinkade painting. Not yet winter, we had a gentle snowfall that blanketed the whole property in a fine white powder. Our cabin was roomy, 3 bedrooms, fireplace, hot water and plenty of space. The... More

We stayed in The Log House for two nights in October when the rates are 50% off. It was the most beautiful cabin we have ever been in. The cabin sleeps 10 people, has a fully stocked kitchen, radiant heat, two gorgeous bathrooms, one king sized bed downstairs, one queen sized bed upstairs and a bunk room that has two... More

I stayed at Corkins to fly fish the upper Brazos. By staying there you get access to private waters. The cabins are very rustic, without any electronics, but everything you need to cook meals. The surroundings are beautiful. I will go back!

Corkins is a very old lodge, well off the beaten path. If you, like us, prefer scenery and quiet to fancy rooms and valet parking, this is the place for you. The cabins are on the primitive side, many are seven decades or more old. But they are clean, well-kept, and they have electricity, heat and running water. Our had... More
