We and friends of ours stayed in the two (2) rooms available at Dancing Wolf and what an amazing place this is. The rooms are uniquely and tastefully decorated and not the cookie cutter variety of room. It is evident a great deal of thought and resources were used to accomplish the pleasing decor. The snacks and refreshments were a... More

My friends and I stayed in two rooms at the Dancing Wolf Resort and loved them! The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated, and full of complimentary goodies. Jim, the proprietor, was very friendly and accommodating. The Resort is conveniently located next to the train station. Each room has a private balcony, providing a very relaxing view of the station and... More

My husband and I took a rode trip through New Mexico and decided to take a ride on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. We had looked through several lodging options before finally deciding on this resort. This place is AMAZING! We can't say enough good things about it. The rooms are gorgeous! The decor is amazing and the bathrooms... More

Simply said, this is a must-stay if you're in Chama for the train or other relaxing reasons. Just 2 guest rooms over Jim's boutique (also the nicest in town), both are impeccably decorated, amazingly comfortable, and immaculate. You can't get any closer to the train station, directly behind the Inn, and both rooms have great balconies with comfy chairs overlooking... More

My husband and I spent a vacation week touring Western Colorado and ended the trip visiting friends in Chama. They recommended the Dancing Wolf as the best place to stay and were they ever right! Perfectly located just behind the Cumbres and Toltec train station, we observed the trains from our balcony as well as the lovely scenery to the... More

This is the first time I’ve submitted a review on TA for a place we didn’t even spend the night. Instead, we were visiting the gift shop (downstairs from the resort) before boarding the sunset tour on the Cumbres & Toltec. We struck up a conversation with Jim (the proprietor) and found out he had a small inn upstairs. He... More

We just found yet another reason to love Northern New Mexico: The Dancing Wolf Resort! Having traveled to this beautiful state a half dozen times, my partner and I were enticed by the scenic possibilities of taking a trip on the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad and set about finding just the right place to stay in Chama. And wow, did... More

We were taking a moonlight train ride from Chama and needed a place to stay. We found Dancing Wolf resort and were thrilled. Jim is very helpful and pays attention to the little details. The room was fantastic: view of the train yard, very comfortable bed, complimentary snacks & beverages, free breakfast, and a fabulous shower. Could not have been... More

After reading the reviews on TA regarding this property, I have to say my expectations were pretty high. Jim and the Dancing Wolf did not disappoint! We stayed two nights over Columbus Day weekend. I was with my husband and treated my parents. We were met by Jim and he let us pick which of the two uniquely (southwestern) decorated... More
