This place was kept very clean. However, it has seen better days, a few decades ago. Couldn't plug in my laptop because of the two pronged receptacles. Very hard water. Good pressure but the shower head filled with hard water deposit. Staff responded quickly when they thought I was a restaurant customer, not coming to their hotel, telling me to... More

This is an adorable little mom & pop place. I'm thinking there are about 25 units. Personally I found the place to be adorable. We traveled with another couple so they made a point to put us in adjoining rooms. The rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. The room also had two large old fashion rocking chairs which I... More

The smokey bear hotel is a fabulous hotel because of the family service they have their kids are very respecful and doesn't let their personal lives into their work. They make sure every room is clean to the best of a persons liking. It's not to expensive motel to stay a night or even a frw nights at. The motel... More

Recently stayed here for a night. It was the second time in five years. I was impressed that they still had my name in the computer. The Motel is still pretty much as I remembered. Maybe a little cleaner and nicer. The lobby area has definitely received an upgrade with many typical artifacts and New Mexican handicrafts. The management was... More

I needed a place to stay between Socorro and Carlsbad and this motel fit the bill. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the price was right. Internet service was offered, but it didn't reach my room. The Smokey Bear museum nearby is worth a visit if you are into American social history and commercial design.

We stayed 2 nights over Labor Day weekend. Our room was clean and comfortable with everything in working order. Manager/owner was very nice, friendly and helpful. The restaurant on site had excellent food with an excellent wait staff! (We had a group of 25 eating 2 meals while there)

We decided to stay in a hotel/motel after spending the day in Alamogordo. They had a room with two queen beds available and were open late. The room was big and clean, beds were comfortable, and it was quiet. This is an older lodging establishment and it does need some cosmetic work but the room and bathroom were clean. Restaurant... We stayed 2 nights and were satisfied with the room. Everything was clean and worked fine including wi-fi. Our room was quiet, located behind the restaurant. The ice machine was not hooked up yet (they were relocating it) but the owner offered to provide a bag of ice. I would stay here again.

A pleasant surprise given the reasonable price. The room was quiet, modern, spacious and well equipped. The continental breakfast was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Better than expected. I would recommended this place.
