I booked this hotel for 1 night in August based on its good ratings on Tripadvisor. I also thought it would make more sense to spend the night outside of Albuquerque due to an expected late arrival. However, I cannot really see why this hotel is rated so high. To begin with the good, the rooms are standard HIE. They... More

As much as I LOVE Middle Eastern foods (the spicier the better), I’m not normally a fan of the rich fabrics; ornate, intricate, and “busy” furniture; and dark wood tones that I associate with Middle Eastern décor. With that being said, I just LOVED the atmosphere here as soon as I walked in the door. Adding the pleasant welcome, the... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the HIE in Belen. While Belen as a town isn't up to much, this hotel is very good indeed. Apparently it is over ten years old, but is very well maintained, and it is clear the owners and staff take great pride in their hotel. Very good check in and room superb. Very quiet and... More

The room was spacious, clean, comfortable bed, so slept well. The pool apparently is seasonal, though, and was covered over. The desk staff were very pleasant and helpful.. Over the course of 2 stays, only had an opportunity to see the breakfast once, which was fresh fruits, hot foods, yogurt, and the like. The kitchen staff replenished things timely. It... More

The hotel was very clean and quiet with decent beds. At first we thought we might be the only occupants, but by the time the sun set there were several more cars in the lot. It's located close to the interstate, but we heard no road noise even though we were on the interstate side of the hotel. The rooms... More

This is still our favorite place in Belen but it would not be competitive in another market. First, they lost our reservation. Fortunately they still had the type of room we wanted. Second, no refrigerator or microwaves. I mentioned it at check out and was told that was their number one complaint. Really? Why hasn't it been addressed?

My spouse and I spent two nights here and it's a typical solid HI Express hotel, consistent and dependable. However, at this hotel's website it said there was a hot tub but it's never been built, though curiously the depth numbers and pattern for the hot tub had been painted; the outdoor pool is seasonal and not open as of... On my return from SLC July 2013, I stopped in Belen to stay the night because it was dark and had started to rain pretty hard. The off-ramp sign indicated there were 2 hotels in Belen, the one and a Super 8. Since on my way up to SLC, I'd stayed at the Super 8 in Lehi, UT and enjoyed... More

Just a short drive south of Albuquerque, this Holiday Inn Express is a great place to stay. Ever since our daughter and family moved to Belen a while back we've used this as our home away from home when we visit. It is both quiet and comfortable. The rooms are well proportioned with plenty of room for the night, weekend... More

Clean, quiet, friendly, close to town. The facility is beautiful and so secure. Breakfast was delicious and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Even asked if we needed a grab andgo breakfast.
