This hotel has clean rooms with facilities that work. This may not sound like much of an endorsement, but in contrast to most of Bhutan's hotels - and much of Bhutan for that matter - things that work are above average. The hotel is a bit run down. Paint peeling from from some bedroom walls. Shower head holders broken, reducing... More

Free wi-fi only at reception area.....good setting......poor room service.....room quality average, but very spacious and comfortable. Food initially was rather bad....on complaining to the chef it became brilliant. Recommended for a good comfortable stay. The rooms on the higher floors are romantic as well.

We travelled in the colder off season months. Their kitchen was getting renovated, hence we were asked to avoid the dining hall for dinner. Food was provided as room service was really bad. Bhutanese dont eat noodles so dont expect to eat good noodles. Also the room qas not warmed up well for the winter. The top floor room we... More

We stayed twice with a group tour with different sized rooms that were just adequate. Despite attempts at providing architectural interest, this places lacks ambience and charm. However, the mushroom soup was delicious and the standard buffet dinner was tasty.

Stayed here twice, the first time the room was so small that swinging a cat would have been exceptionally cruel plus the room was over the kitchen. On our second stay we had a completely different room with room enough to swing a snow leopard without any problem. The reception staff didn't really understand the concept of service but the... Not a lot of choices in this little town. Pros-cool location next to river. Cons-staff not rude but certainly didn't go out of their way to be friendly. Thin walls, lots of noise from lobby and restaurant. Wifi in lobby only. I had to put towel under door to keep Mosquitos out of our room. I have to agree with... More

This hotel is situated by the river and has beautiful gardens. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very large and clean. There is tv, coffee and tea facilities in the room. There is free wifi in the lobby and restaurant but not in the rooms. A very pleasant stay.

This resort has a lovely garden and great location, we enjoyed a relaxing drink overlooking the river. The rooms are very small but clean. The biggest disappointment was the food, it looked great but was very bland.

The 1 star that i am giving for Damchen is for its location. Situated beside a river it is very nice to look at from outside. But once you get in, you will see that the rooms are very very small, old and not at all good. Neither the food is tasty nor the staff friendly. The only thing that made... More

Although we had booked a Delux room, when we reached in the afternoon, we were given a very small room without even place for a rack to keep bags, or a small table and chairs for sitting. The bathroom had a blade less fan exhaust motor. The window was without any mosquito net and had to be kept close making... More
