A nice place to stay while you are traveling in Bhutan. Clean and welcoming rooms, restaurant and lobby. A nice feature of breakfast is that they will make eggs to your order. Many steps to climb to your room, lobby and restaurant but that what gives it so much charm. Stayed 2 nights.

I spent 2 nights at this lodge and loved it. The staff and owner are very friendly and extremely helpful and caring. The owner the one evening even went around to every table to talk to the guests. One gal who works in the dining room was particularity sweet. My room had a king size bed, comfy thick quilt. It... More

The rooms were large and had a little alcove with a swing. Too cold in December to use it but a nice idea, with a view over the valley. Again the electric heater was the only heat in the room. Worked ok. The shower was very elaborate so many options that it took a long time to figure out how... More

Jakar Village lodge is quite impressive for it location and is very well maintained. The rooms are well kept and clean. There is a heater in every room but it just gets too cold in the evenings. I was there for one night and I did not want to leave the place. The owner's are quite friendly and they spend... More

We were impressed that all these 3 star hotels have very comfortable good quality beds with good pillows and comforters. It got pretty cold in the evenings. The owners are great cooks too, so we enjoyed our meals there. Since it's located in the residential area, it's nice and quiet.

This is a small hotel below the impressive Dzong, overlooking some nice fields. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were the best during our 7 day trip in Bhutan, and included buckwheat pancakes, the specialty in Bumthang (do try them)!. The hotel also offers freshly ground coffee, which was a treat, and tea around a traditional stove (not quite a... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. This hotel is out of town, which makes it quiet and peaceful, but also means that you are not able to explore the town at night. The room was quite nice, shower was ok, but tnot the best. Heating in the room but no TV. Wifi is only available in reception. It worked well... More

Visiting Bhutan is a must in my mind if you are a traveller like myself. In Bhutan it is a must to visit Bumthang region and thus Jakar . In Jakar it is a must to stay in Jakar village lodge . You will stay in a village and in authentic houses build in village style right beside a village... More

We quite liked the place, after a long day out, it was nice to enjoy some tea on our balcony, catching the last few rays of the sun. The room was comfy and clean, the heater did its job well, since the moment you step out the door it's really chilly at night around there! Like many other reviews, the... More

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and enjoyed it very much. The room was comfortable (except for the shower which had little water pressure) and the food excellent (compared to other hotels in Bhutan that we stayed at and offered pretty much the same food). We even had trout for dinner one evening ! The location of the hotel... More
