After a long spectacular 8 hours journey from Punakha to Bumthang, we felt like we have unveiled all the beauty this country has on offer. It is then we reach this quaint lodge, tucked in between 360 degrees of panoramic beauty. Warmly welcomed, we are escorted our room. It was a tastefully decorated room with amazing hand painted walls. With... More

Traveling to Buthan means that you have to book a package in advance. Nevertheless you can tell to your Buthanese travel agency your hotel preferences. don't doubt to do it when visiting Bumthang one of the premiere destinations in Buthan and make Jakar Village lodge your choice. Perfect location that enables you to visit the impressive Jakar Dzong just walking... More

We stayed in this place during an impromptu stay in Bumthag. Our original plan was to drive up to Trashigang but we realized that given the road conditions, we can't make it to Trashigang. We removed Trashigang from our itinerary and thus Bumthang became of place to stay. The place is very close to the Dzong. Actually one can walk... More

very pretty looking with average sized cozy rooms and small bathrooms. heating in a place like bhumtang essential and this place got that right. restaurant had very courteous staff and excellent food especially their coffee and buck wheat pancakes. The only thimg they need to do away with is the paid wifi. Too expensive @200 rupees a gadget.

This is a very special place. Cleverly designed, the Jakar Village Lodge butts up against a 'real' village and is absolutely delightful. The rooms are chalet style, traditionally and tastefully furnished, with a large comfortable bed, super soft pillows and a real down duvet. All the beds in Bhutan have been good but this is a cosy, comfy sleep fest.... More

This place is akin to a homestay or a Lodge. The forever dependable and friendly staff is there to oblige their guests. Whenever they are not too busy, they would go to the guests and chat with them. The reception, the common area and the dining room is located on the first floor, which is consistent with Bhutanese architecture, where... More

A nice place to stay while you are traveling in Bhutan. Clean and welcoming rooms, restaurant and lobby. A nice feature of breakfast is that they will make eggs to your order. Many steps to climb to your room, lobby and restaurant but that what gives it so much charm. Stayed 2 nights.

I spent 2 nights at this lodge and loved it. The staff and owner are very friendly and extremely helpful and caring. The owner the one evening even went around to every table to talk to the guests. One gal who works in the dining room was particularity sweet. My room had a king size bed, comfy thick quilt. It... More

The rooms were large and had a little alcove with a swing. Too cold in December to use it but a nice idea, with a view over the valley. Again the electric heater was the only heat in the room. Worked ok. The shower was very elaborate so many options that it took a long time to figure out how... More

Jakar Village lodge is quite impressive for it location and is very well maintained. The rooms are well kept and clean. There is a heater in every room but it just gets too cold in the evenings. I was there for one night and I did not want to leave the place. The owner's are quite friendly and they spend... More
