We stayed in one of the suite room which looks like a temple! Interesting and very nice decor in the room. The room is newly renovated and the bed is comfortable. There is no tv in the room and Wi-Fi connection is rather weak. Wi-Fi at the restaurant/bar area is good. Bathroom is clean hot water shower takes a while... More

A cosy atmosphere in this long time family hotel, with a nice garden in the country side. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The clean room we had (in the main building) was rather simple (small and cramped). Probably the (newer) bungalow rooms are better value. The food though is excellent. Also the quarters for drivers/guides were reasonable. The... More

A modest two storey lodge in the local style. We stayed for three nights. The good: - friendly staff, tons of hot water in the shower (good when it is cold!) - it is 5 mins walk to the monastery so you avoid the traffic jams at festival time - omelette with cheese for breakfast The average: - everything else... Although fairly modest by western standards, this lodge has a lot of charm. Rooms are simple, comfortable and cosy. Each has electric heating but also a wood-fired stove that the 'fire man' will light for you on request. Bathrooms are good with ample hot water. Everything is very clean. Rooms are arranged around lovely rustic gardens, with fruit trees, vegetables... More

Stayed at Rinchenling lodge on 23-25 October 2014. The short driveway into the lodge was quite rough and one would not realize there's a hidden gem within. The lodge is about 5 mins drive from the village center and about 5 mins to the 7th century monastery, Jambay Lhakhang; bhutan's most sacred kurjey Lhakhang monastery; and about 15 mins drive... One of the best places we stayed at during our trip through Bhutan. Even though we were about the only guests, the place did not feel empty at all. It was cosy, warm and welcoming. We had rooms in the building at the back, three years old I was told. One goes through the garden to get there. Everything was... More

During my ten day tour of Bhutan, my tour company put me up at this hotel for two nights. I was very disappointed. I was travelling alone and both afternoons we got done early, thus I got to sit in the hotel with nothing to do. The hotel is not near anything, they had several power outages while I was... More

This area was said to be the equivalent of Swiss in Bhutan. True in some sense that the architecture of the traditional building and the scenery of the valley etc were giving you that feeling. The hotel was also in traditional style and the dinning hall was very swiss like with cozy feeling. WiFi availalbe and strong enough but the... More

The hotel was fully booked when I visited, because of the Jampey Lakhang festival. Therefore they also used the conference room as a diner: a long table with nameplates for all the guests. Perfect to chat with other guests about their Bhutan experiences. My room was a delight as I arrived from (badly) sleeping in a dirty farmhouse. Nice and... More

We always appreciate hotels/lodges where the owners/managers understand what they are about, and the Rinchenling Lodge is a good example of that. It is a family-run operation with rooms built around a pretty courtyard with apple trees. The dining room is comfortable and laidback, and the overall ambiance of the lodge is pleasant, albeit rustic. Staff was warm and friendly.... More
