My husband and I spent one week at the Tropicana Resort on Phu Quoc Island in 2002 and we absolutely loved it! From the looks of things, since I've seen photos of their beautiful swimming pool, things have only improved! First of all, the staff are wonderful, friendly and the service is great. The prices are very reasonable and we... More

first the bad news, tropicana was sold, keeping its name. Being divided into three hotels, or three different stages of a new hotel the cute huts where being torn down on my last days there March 18 2015 It's in a great location, had a bungalow on the beach, worth the little extra just for the breeze The family staff... I really wouldn't write a review unless something was very good or very bad, unfortunately this was the latter. We had lunch here this week. We ordered a vegetarian option which turned up with seafood. The replacement dish was the blandest bolognese I've ever seen. I ate a chicken stir fry which was 75% skin and grissle. It really was... Having read some previous submissions, my wife and I came to Tropicana Resort with a little trepidation, after a misunderstanding about the room we booked, we were shown into the correct room, by the manager's wife, who was very apologetic. We then had breakfast, perfectly adequate by the way, and spent all day on a beautiful, white sand beach. We... More

You can probably stay for a full week on the mainland for the price we paid for one night at the Tropicana (and probably Phu Quoc in general). Yes, demand is high, but you can cannot justify charging high prices for a barely working shower and a dirty room. Breakfast is terrible considering the price paid. We had better facilities... More

This place mat have been built 15 -20 years ago and left to rot since. It's definitely unloved. Everywhere you look it's broken. What a shame as it could be really nice. The breakfast is crap and the staff is nice but hasn't got a clue ! The pool is huge and great but only 2 broken loungers.

We had just spent some time in the Mekong Delta and were hoping for a nice resort stay at the beach for our New Year's. Wrong. This place needs to be shut down and redone and the staff needs replaced or trained. Trying to arrange transport was a challenge. Once we booked we spent 2 days before we got to... More

It's called a resort but it was borderline commune vibe. There is no one western on the staff and something seemed a bit off to me the whole time. I found it particularly difficult to communicate with the front desk. They need a native English speaker on staff. On the other hand this is actually nice and oddly charming as... More

Noisy rooms due to palm leaf rooftops, cockroaches and insects on the floor all day and night. Bungalows looked like a 2-star resort. Breakfast was the worst I've seen while living in travelling in Vietnam for the past two years. I paid $115 USD per night for the beach side bungalow. Very disappointed with all aspects. This hotel needs a... More
